Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Allagash White delicately balances full flavor with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hints of spice. Naturally cloudy, bottled with yeast.

Hazy yellow body with a slight yeasty browning color and a creamy white head. Very potent spice and coriander aroma. Slight lemon and orange citrus notes. Very nice tastes, smooth wheat body with some coriander and lots of oranges. Crisp light hops to finish the sip.

12oz bottle, poured a nice clear gold color with a frothy white head, that dissipated fully. Very aromatic, with hints of wheat, malt, cloves, spices, lemon, and grass. Taste of wheat, lemon, and spice. Very crisp and light mouthfeel, quite quenching. Great beer!

Deep gold, cloudy pour with a big foamy head that lasts. Nice aroma of yeast, wheat, banana, lemon and spice. Flavor is good as well, with the yeast lemon peel and spice shining through. Very refreshing on the palate, makes you want more. An overall good wit.

Presentation: (Labeled Batch # 33.) It was poured from a brown, corked and caged 750ml bottle into a witbier tumbler. Appearance: Its color was light yellow with a hazy body that produced a light white colored head. The head had a soapy appearance with large and small bubbles that hang out for a long time and make nice spotty lace on the glass. Smell: The aroma is full of wonderful malty wheat tones, yeast and spice. Taste/Mouth feel: It has a bright vibrant flavor and smooth palate. It has a mostly sweet malt with some wheat tang and nice mild yeast flavor. Coriander and Curacao orange peel give it a good spicy and bitter/sweet citrus touch that works well with the very mild and slightly herbal hops. A smooth creamy texture, medium body and lively carbonation give it a very refreshing character. Notes: Very well done!!!

Among the domestic white wheats, this offering from Maine is really a standout. It has a wonderfully cloudy complexion and a strong spicy aftertone. Particularly for summer drinking this one is a favorite. Bottoms up!

Very good although probably overrated wit. I prefer Samuel Adams White Ale, for example. Anyway this one has severe citrus undertones not subtly masked by a traditional wheat taste. Pours a nice hazy yellow. Fairly thick white head, I may have made an over-aggressive pour. Overall a slight disappointment but worth giving a try if you see it lying around somewhere.

Wheat beers are definitely my favourite and this is a good tasting wheat beer. The only thing I was not to fond of, and hence a lower rating is the essence of spice. I felt there was way to much on the spice side such that it was a little overwhelming. So a decent wehat beer but a little to much spice.
