Cybercat (778), Georgia, USA Dec 21, 2007 A cloudy honey-amber golden with a nice thick head. Aroma is fruity and malty with strong banana and lemon tones. The rich wheaty flavor fairly fills the mouth, and the strong hoppy bitter undertone gives it a nice kick! It goes down smoothly with a strong alcohol bite that is more like hard liquor than beer. Skeegle (476), Maryland, USA Dec 21, 2007 Beautiful full and soft body. Well spiced with pepper, poultry seasoning and perhaps green peppers? Some rye bread in there too. Big fan of this beer. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Dec 9, 2007 A nice golden fluffy beer.whrat on hte nose with some breadiness.Flavor was light easy drinking and crisp.A good wheat and yeast flavor.Finish was clean and nothing hanging around for later. direwolf600 (30), Philadlephia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 4, 2007 As far as wheat beers go this one is pretty good. Pretty smooth but falls short of some others from this brewery. Walkowiak (21), Northville, Michigan, USA Dec 4, 2007 Bottle. Poured a cloudy grapefruit-like color with a small head. Aroma had a lemon scent. It tasted tart/sour with a slight lemon flavor with a crisp, bitter finish. It was moderately carbonated. The mouthfeel was light. Pretty good beer, not great. DrnkMcDermott (1831), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Nov 29, 2007 12 oz. bottle in tumbler. Right upon twisting the cap, there’s a smell of cheap lager. I finally catch a little coriander as it settles. Pours slightly cloudy, but clears as it warms up a little. Could this be more an interpretation of a Blue Moon? Well, taste brings in some nice sharpness from spices and a little more hop than the style should need. While I’m not the biggest fan of wheat esters, I actually missed them from this beer. But... swirling the last bit in the bottle and pouring the yeast gave me a familiar cloudy body and a light custard head, however brief. More of the usual wit flavor was there. Yeah, that’s it. The yeast must have settled more than usual and needed to be stirred in better. Carry on. Heathen (723), Riverside, New Jersey, USA Nov 27, 2007 THOUGHTS: I think it’s the first time I’ver tried a small bottel of Allagash. I was a little nervous but the quality was still there. Very refreshing, but not the best wit.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a pale yellow that was very cloudy and almost white. The whitest, wit I think I’ve ever had. It had a small, white head that mostly diminished except for a thin sheet and left fair lacing. The aroma was lemon, light to moderate yeast and wheat. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and moderately acidic, while the finish was moderately sweet and lightly acidic and sour with an average duration. The flavor was mostly lemon, wheat and yeast. The light to medium body was slightly dry with fizzy carbonation and a light to moderately astringent and dry finish. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Nov 25, 2007 pours a hazy shade of gold with light head and little spotty lacing! Slight banana aroma. citrus and coriander but not overwhelming.
