Aroma is yeasty and some banana. Reminds me of a hefe. Some hoppy bitterness on my tongue when tasting. Very spicy and prickly mouthfeel. Decent citrus (orange/lemon?) flavor in the long savor. Leaves no aftertaste. Goodgrief (1148), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Poured a beautiful cloudy yellow with BIG foamy head. This was one of my fav witbiers yet. Spicy, sweet, malty, little hoppy taste in there, yeasty. This had it all going on. Most complex witbier I’ve had and this was very, very good. I’ll have to try more Allagash offerings. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Aug 8, 2007 Batch #31 the bottle says. Pop the cork and pour it into a nice big open mouth chalice. Nice hazy yellow straw color liquid fills the glass and a big thick foamy head covers the top. The foam slowly settles and covers the sides of the glass in a sticky layer of lace. Big sweet wheat malt sweetness breaks through up front and it closely followed by a big kick of yeasty banana filling the nose. Just a touch of lemon and a hint of orange peel round out the aroma. Wonderful. Smooth and slightly sweet wheat malt fills the mouth. Big and juicy it is soon followed by a wonderful yeast note with great banana flavor coating the palate. More juicy sweetness and a bit of lemon come in. Just makes your mouth water. Big of juicy melon even comes into the mix a bit. On the aftertaste there’s just a hint of woodsy oak and a bit of dry sweetness. Smooth from start to finish. Wonderfully balanced and amazingly easy to drink. More please. csbosox (1079), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA

Added to my RB list to check "Maine" as a beer state consumed. A favorite summertime wit for me. Spicy and lemony. Clouded yellow appearance. Healthy white head. Peppercorns and coriander seed seem to grind against the teeth. Refreshing.
