LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 22, 2006 Uggh! I hate wheat beers in general but I know a good or bad wheat beer. This is an average to below average one. Yes, technically it’s a witbier, but to me wheat = bad. This was not as bad as most. The pour is a blah pee yellow with no head. The aroma is old sugar. The taste is citrus-y and yeast with vinegar in the finish. Almost a drain pour but I had wisdom teeth pulled a few days ago and wanted to dull the pain. ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Dec 12, 2006 Bottle. Pours a cloudy pale gold, decent sized rocky white head with not much lacing. Aroma is of lemon, yeast, and some corriander. Flavor is bread, some spice, and lemon. Palate is light bodied, crisp, highly carbonated, lingering lemony, yeasty finish. A solid white. beerdc (13), USA Dec 11, 2006 A successful belgian style american beer. While there is not much of a nose to the hazy golden brew, the strong hints of citrus and yeast make the flavor bold and the mouth feel great. beerbill (1917), Laurel, New York, USA Dec 11, 2006 12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy washed out yellow with thin white head that quickly disappeared. Pleasant aroma of citrus, yeast and spices. The flavor was just lacking for me. There were some spices and a bit of lemon, but overall it was quite bland. Not bad, just blah. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Dec 7, 2006 White sludge at bottom of bottle-- I wish it hadn’t settled so much because it was nice. Corriander/spices with zesty citrus and yeast note. A bit watery and mineral tasting but I enjoyed it because it wasn’t too sweet. danfosha (36), Denver, Colorado, USA Dec 5, 2006 From the bottle. Pours pale gold, cloudy brew, not much lacing, foams dissolves somewhat quickly. Aroma of nutmeg, allspice and juniper berry. Tastes of the same spices with a touch of grapefruit pith. Nice beer. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Dec 3, 2006 12oz bottle via my Secret Santa! - thanks - pours cloudy and pale golden with a short white head. Aromas of lemon, yeast, and some corriander. Flavor is yeasty upfront with some definite citrus bite and a spice finish. Light palate with a spritzy mouthfeel. larryg (8), chicago, Illinois, USA does not count Dec 3, 2006 this is a great white that isnt cluttered by cloves or banana. i love the cloudy appearance. i d like just a bit more citrus but if u want an uncontaminated white this is it. id add a silce of orange or lemon and if i can get a 6 pack , ill experiment. i could drink this for hours and days at a time. great summer or sitting by a fireplace beer. this is as good or better than hoegaarden and hachor pschorr. had a pint, might not be as good in a bottle, wheats are funny like that.
