JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 27, 2006 Light golden-cloudy pour. Aroma of banana-yeast with some spiciness. Taste is heavy on the wheat and yeast, but hop balance is pleasant. Not really my style, but a very pleasant brew. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA Oct 16, 2006 Bottle. Corked 24 oz. Hazy straw colored. Large, white head. Aroma of banana, cloves, yeast. Flavorful wheat beer dominated at first by spices that seem accentuated by high level of carbonation. Mild yeast flavor with bready notes. Very little citrus and hardly any tartness which would have rounded out this decent wit beer. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Oct 15, 2006 Light citrusy aroma. Yellow color, slightly cloudy. Bitter, light fruity taste. Slightly astringent and fizzy mouthfeel. Not bad. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 12, 2006 12oz bottle. Aroma: Spicy coriander and pepperiness, slight banana, wheaty breadiness, lemon, and a touch of woodiness. Appearance: Light yellow in color and hazy. White head was full and rocky. Head dissipated swiftly into a light film. Decent lacing. Flavor: Spice jumps out first with strong coriander and pepper. Nice wheat flavor with a good yeast quality. Lemon and orange citrus. Palate: Light bodied. High carbonation. Overall: A good wit and a pleasure to drink. Only criticism is that the flavor doesn’t ’pop’ as well as some other witbiers. Still, a good beer. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Oct 11, 2006 Hazy/murky yellow with nice off-white head, fades rather quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma has very bready wheat character up front, with some banana and lemon zest in the background. Flavor much the same. Chewy wheat bread with a nice balance of citrus, banana and spice. If aroma and flavor were a tad "bigger" this score would jump significantly. Mouthfeel thins out at times. Overall, well done easy drink, regardless. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA Oct 11, 2006 Glowing hazy gold with a big aroma of oranges and lemons. Sharp, spicy flavors with some sourness lead to a dry, wheaty finish. Lots of citrus flavor and a sweet yeastiness that seem to balance each other out. Pretty good. doubleipa (224), Georgia, USA Oct 3, 2006 Pale yellow in color. Almost zero head that completely disappeared. Clove, allspice, some banana. Expected a little more aroma. Like many Allagash brews, this one was quite carbonated. Not like the 10th Anniversary, though. MadIndian (987), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 30, 2006 Updated: Jun 19, 2007Pours an off cloudy yellow. Good head(keeps its retention) The taste is crisps and smells of wheat but I don’t like belgians too much. This falls short for me.
