Commercial Description:
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Allagash White delicately balances full flavor with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hints of spice. Naturally cloudy, bottled with yeast.

Batch #37. Aroma of light lemon, wheat and some yeast. Hazy golden color with a white head that laces. Medium mouthfeel. Wheat start. Mild lemon and spice. Yeast. Fairly dry finish, and there is some bitter to carry on. Very refreshing.

Thanks to civforprez for sharing this bomber. I have had a fair number of witbiers now and I think I can fairly judge this compared to similar brews. Pours a very cloudy light yellow color. The very pale color put me off a bit. Formed a huge fluffy head in my glass. The aroma is the standard orange zest, ginger and bread. The taste was bready with a zesty orange and a finish like dirt. Also had a little corriander and some pepper spice, but these were too light to add much character. Has a lively carbonated mouthfeel. Pretty good for the style, but there are better ones out there.

Citrus lemon/orange, strong coriander and mild vanilla in the sweet, inviting aroma. Opaque, milky, white-yellow-gold with low white head that persists and plenty of yeast in suspension. Some minor lacing. Honey-like sweetness with bitter orange and coriander spiciness that complement. Tart and dry in the mildly bitter finish. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation. Tulip glass, fridge temp. Bottle (Half Time, Mar. 2005).

Rerate 2005 bottling: Seems much more of a witBIER this year, you can taste some herbal hops and a bit of bready malts under those spices and wheat. Quite a refreshing Summer quencher. Improving flavor score and overall scores.

Hazy yellow hue with no head to speak of. Aroma hints of orange, corriander, lemongrass, herbs, hay field, and leather. Very spicy and orangy taste up front with a dry and papery finish. What this beer is missing is just that, beer. No hints of malt or hops in the flavor. That said, this is still a tasty "version" of the Witbier, just don’t expect to much.

Bottle. High white and lasting creamy off-white head. Hazy yellow green body. Fruity aroma and flavor of mainly banana with high carbonation and a long aftertaste.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Flanagan’s Liquors in Appleton, Wisconsin. Pours a semi-clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and white ring. Aroma of light multi-grain malt, some citrus zest, light herbal spice, and a touch of banana esters. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonation with a more wit flavor than its aroma. More banana, yeast and clove flavors come out in the taste. Finish is semi-sweet, a little watery with a dry banana and yeast aftertaste flavor.

12oz bottle. Poured hazy medium golden with a sticky cap of white head.. lots of sediment suspended in there. The aroma picked up toasted wheaty notes and spices (coriander and orange zest come to mind) along with what seemed to be oaky character.. more of the citrus as it warmed up. The flavor had pale, rather non-descript malts at the core with citrus zest and spices surrounding.. dry, grainy, and a little cardboardey.. a tad sour (in a good way) on the rather quick finish. Light-medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. grainy and sour.. man.. this wasn’t bad, but it tasted like it was old.
