COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Allagash White delicately balances full flavor with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hints of spice. Naturally cloudy, bottled with yeast.

Served on tap in a pint glass. The beer is a light yellow flaxen color that was almost clear. There was a nice white head that laid lightly on top. It smells light, fresh and citrus with a tiny bit of yeast but in no way overpowering. There is definitely a bit of citrus and sweetness to the beer. It has a perfume like aftertaste that stays in on the tongue. The beer goes down very light but with very fine carbonation but as it warms up it seems to expand in the mouth leaving a foam as it dissolves in your mouth. It goes down nicely and is light and refreshing but it does expand in the mouth somewhat as it warms up.

Golden, light, slightly hazed pour with a large cap of white foam. Has a nice, strong aroma on it, lemon zest, a slight creamsicle feel in the background, zippy coriander, toasty wheat, slightly tropical notes. The flavor has more of the spice and lemon, a slight tang, and not as much of the creamy/tropical notes, though they are still there. Light, refreshing body.

Reviewed from notes (2007). A: Hazy straw yellow body. Small white head. Spotty lacing. S: citrus hops, orange, coriander and some grassy/foral accents T: A nicely balanced wibier profile: orange and coriander are most strongly present with more undertones of citrus/floral hops and a nice wheat base M: Smooth, crisp, relatively dry O: Refreshing and enjoyable... among the better witbiers

Aromas of banana and clove and a hint of orange. Attractive appearance, a looking white. Taste is smooth and refreshing, again hints of orange and banana, a little spicy on the finish. The carbonation is very nice and lively, a perfect beer for a nice day.

Bottle. Cloudy lemon yellow in appearance with a half inch of thick white head. The aroma is doughy yeast, cloves and lemon rind. The taste starts with cloves and bready malt followed by honey, banana and cardamom. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy with medium carbonation and a smooth, citrusy finish. The overall flavor has a good balance of yeast, spice and fruit flavors. Fans of Saisons and German Hefeweizens should definitely give this one a try.

Hazy golden pour with some cloudiness, small white head. Smells of lemon, grass, spices, coriander. Some light sweetness from the coriander, balanced with the sour lemon and spice flavors. A great Belgian White; very refreshing, especially in the summer months.

GABF 2011. Hazy light gold, nice laceful head. Great coriander and citrus nose, complex and funky. Lovely coriander and lemon flavor, slight funk, rich big body that is dry, floral, malty, and balanced.
