COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of a traditional Belgian wheat beer, Allagash White delicately balances full flavor with a crisp, refreshing taste and subtle hints of spice. Naturally cloudy, bottled with yeast.

12 oz. bottle in tumbler. Right upon twisting the cap, there’s a smell of cheap lager. I finally catch a little coriander as it settles. Pours slightly cloudy, but clears as it warms up a little. Could this be more an interpretation of a Blue Moon? Well, taste brings in some nice sharpness from spices and a little more hop than the style should need. While I’m not the biggest fan of wheat esters, I actually missed them from this beer. But... swirling the last bit in the bottle and pouring the yeast gave me a familiar cloudy body and a light custard head, however brief. More of the usual wit flavor was there. Yeah, that’s it. The yeast must have settled more than usual and needed to be stirred in better. Carry on.

Beautiful golden straw color that poured very clear and then I dropped the yeast which clouded it up but still stunning. Aromas of lemon peel, Rosemary, and hay with the classic clove yeast. Taste is very refreshing with crisp character that is spicy up front with pepper notes and finishes with bubblegum and then allspice at the very end. A fantastic beer and a benchmark for the style.

Exactly correct for the style. Clove flavor. Slight citrus. Wheat bite. If you like the style you’ll like the beer.

Pours a cloudy dark yellow with an average size white head. Aroma was spicy and citrusy with some wheat and corn. Taste of wheat, spices and fruit and a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied.

12 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 40 degrees F. Appearance: Pours a quite cloudy pale straw gold, and forms a massive white head with good retention. Lacing was exceptional throughout. Smell: Musty wheat mixed with a bouquet of light fruits, from pear to lemon-orange citrus. Some hints of spiciness lurk within the depths of the aroma. Taste: Spices hit straightaway, coriander, clove, and white pepper, before receding a touch to let fruit esters swirl in. Waves of white grapes, pears, and a mildly tart citrus bearing hints of orange and lemon hit and mingle. A faint tone of bubblegum arises towards the finish, which leaves a lingering tart citrus and peppery spice aftertaste. Mouthfeel: Light and effervescent, this is a refreshing beer to drink. Overall: A good witbier, solid in every aspect. I’m a fan.

Une très belle blanche qui n’a rien à envier à nos blanches belges, fraîche, épicée, citronnnée longue et équilibrée.

A good Belgian white. Not too malty. Not too boring better than most white winter type beers ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
