4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The gold standard for wit beers. A perfect example of the style first popularized in Belgium, these guys do it best. Citrusy with a mellow wheat undertone and fairly dry finish.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle, poured into a tulip glass at approximately 40 degrees F.
Appearance: Pours a quite cloudy pale straw gold, and forms a massive white head with good retention. Lacing was exceptional throughout.
Smell: Musty wheat mixed with a bouquet of light fruits, from pear to lemon-orange citrus. Some hints of spiciness lurk within the depths of the aroma.
Taste: Spices hit straightaway, coriander, clove, and white pepper, before receding a touch to let fruit esters swirl in. Waves of white grapes, pears, and a mildly tart citrus bearing hints of orange and lemon hit and mingle. A faint tone of bubblegum arises towards the finish, which leaves a lingering tart citrus and peppery spice aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Light and effervescent, this is a refreshing beer to drink.
Overall: A good witbier, solid in every aspect. I’m a fan.

Une très belle blanche qui n’a rien à envier à nos blanches belges, fraîche, épicée, citronnnée longue et équilibrée.

A good Belgian white. Not too malty. Not too boring better than most white winter type beers

Flight at brewery. For a style I don’t really like, this is outstanding. Pours a hazy golden color- nice carbonation. Nice peppery and Belgian yeast and spice notes. Fruity and refreshing and super crisp. Pretty great.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle on 07.24.14.
A: Strong smell of wheat. It also has lemon.
A: 2 finger fluffy head. Cloudy straw yellow.
T: Lemon and wheat dominate. Clove is subtle on the back end.
P: Creamy smooth. Perfect.
O: This is one of the best wits out there, hands down. I was looking forward to picking up Pliny on a trip, but this ended up outshining everything, including Pliny *gasp*. I was going to hoard some six packs of this, but it was too good not to drink immediately. It’s too bad that they don’t distribute to my state. Oh well. It is a fantastic wit.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle from Maplewood Liquors. Pours a hazy orange/ yellow with a thick fizzy head. Mild citrus clove aroma. Taste is malty but the back end is where the spices and dry tart citrus notes kick in. Bubbly mouth feel. Feels light, but still has substantial flavors. Very nice complexity for a wit. Goes down easy and will hold its own against any style.
