3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap and a 12 oz. pour to a tubbler style glass at DMK Burger Bar in Lombard, IL., showing a lightly hazed, golden hue, with persistent, white, frothy head foam, and wavy cling to the lacing. The aroma was light yeast, smooth Pils malt, strong fruitiness, citrus as lemon, rind-like zest, and spicey phenols. Moderate, but lingering, earthy & peppery hop bitterness successfully masked the alcohol effect until later in the flavor, as the brew warmed. Also present were mild sugary sweetness, light astringency/tartness, and lively effervesence, all in a medium body. Quaffable but potent.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11 ounce pour - $9.00 at Taco Mac in East Roswell, Georgia.
Appearance: Served up a clouded, golden body with a couple inches of white, thick foam that lasts (and lasts).
Smell: Lightly bready, lightly grainy pils, wheat malts. Clove buds preserved in alcohol, notes of grassiness and citrus popping with pith, also subtler orchards fruits, maybe a little lychee.
Taste: Pale malts, maybe some lightish wheat with a touch of overall breadiness. It starts candi sugar sweet but it instantly begins drying away, particularly as the hop bitterness kicks in. Displays a similar fruity melange in the middle, same as the original, but with a larger citrus element. Cracked cloves. Peppery alcohol tries to hit you with a hammer, but the other various flavors try to keep it at bay. The other fruit flavors dim down as the bitter, warming finish takes hold.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation. Surprisingly soft mouthfeel.
Overall: An ample, hopped-up tripel, though, I would’ve been just as content with the standard tripel.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
A very light, mild triple. Pale, clear yellow, mild aroma. Slight flavor, mildly fruity, crisp finish. Just not a lot going on.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at Mekong. Almost forgot to rate this, which would have been a shame, seeing as how it is all awesome and stuff. Poured a lightly hazy gold with a nice head, pretty. Aroma was lemony hops - but not sour. Flavor was gummy sticky pale malts, followed by a pleasant belgian yeast spiciness, and then finishing with a very clean, not harshly bitter hop finish, slight lemon and grapefruit. One of the very few occasions where big hop flavors melded almost perfectly with a very belgian beer. Loved this one. Bitterness definitely lingered on the palate - but again, not harsh. Really well done.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer has a golden color with cloudy white hues. It has a strong citrus hop aroma but isn't bitingly bitter on the tongue. Is has a clean flavor which is a surprise when you smell it.

A good beer. Pours a very cloudy yellow-orange. Smells sweet, and a little bit of hops. Taste is the same, cloudy, creamy and some hops. Quite a hoppy ending. Had at Noc Noc.

Taste: Sweet malts with orange, grapefruit, with lemon on the finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Teresa’s Next Door. Clear light golden, pillowy white foam. Sugary nose with present cantaloupe from the Sorachi Ace. Yeasty, lemon peel, doughy. Taste is sugar cube, chalky, dense, some kumquat fruitiness. Spicy mild alcohol. Quite sugary though, but it is a Tripel.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Hollingshead’s Delicatessen in Orange, CA. Served in a mug.
Yeast-driven aromas floated from the glass. Think champagne yeast and butter cream frosting with a light tint of lemongrass. Wasn’t spectacular, but different from the citrus-addled Belgian Tripels.
Frothy saffron head left cobweb lacing until dissipation about halfway through.
Taste is where this beer shines by introducing mulled honey, oven-fresh croissants slathered in butter, lemon zest, and a powerful vanilla extract kick in the finish.
The mouth feel is as creamy, rich, and buttery as the taste and aroma would suggest. Full-bodied and robust, yet flows smoothly down.
