The beer was a dark amber almost black but with no head to speak of, I did the bottle upside down one foot above the glass pour but couldn’t get any head. Smelt very sweet of caramel malts or maybe roasted almonds can’t quit tell. Feels very smooth and flat almost no carbonation but not to light. The taste is very grainy at the tip of the tung and turns to a sour red wine towards the back, very dry. Has a bread like after taste, not a bad beer don’t think I’ll buy t again but if someone offers me a free one I won’t stab them in the liver. Vertical Bacon Strips (924), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Looks like a 10 year old bottle of rootbeer that has actually settled. Kinda flat and murky too and greyish. A wonderful oilslick has replaced what could’ve been a foamy top. Sour-sweet stink. Disgusting sour taste and a little bitter - quite harsh and almost upsets the stomach. Perplexing sticky mouthfeel that numbed (thank god). Feels very flat. Beer has no more and no less than 2 flavors. Yuck. Burp was ok. Very low quality in every way. My wife drew a triple coiler next to my review - now that’s a sign!! presario (3010), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Thanks to Neal for hosting a fun night for those of us who came up from Calgary. The Alligator is very dark but that is colouring and not malt as the body is not any thicker. A fairly average light malt flavour and I quickly moved back to the cask Full Moon. Reminded me more of a "blackened" pale lager for the colour rather than a Dunkel by taste. Surprising that pale malt aroma dominates, a little fruity even. An odd mix on the palate of faint caramel and faint grassy hops, with nothing distinctly predominating. Quite enjoyable though. Pleasant appearance with large carbonated bubbles, like a fresh on-tap draft. Refreshing and drinkable. Floral hops. Recommend it for uniqueness.
