Light, I guess with a malt accent.

went to local restaurant and was surprised they had this on tap. delightfully surprised. the pint came back with an off white, medium head. colour is, well, amber. can taste a small amount of hops, and was complimented with a sweet spice. taste had a smidge of bitterness, that wasn't shunned. apparent light lacing. good brew.

I like the bitter finish at the end, but the overall product isn’t too stunning. Expected more from the craft beer label.

341mL bottle poured light brown into glass with off-white head and small lacing. Aroma is caramel and some floral hops. Taste is lightly sweet caramel and a mild bitter hoppiness in the finish. Light carbonation and medium body, this beer is a fine example of the style.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 gramity (601) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 15, 2011
Deep golden brown, almost no carbonation present after the pour. Poured a 1/2 cm head which dissipated, with small islands and some fine lacing, which held more than halfway down the pilsner glass.
A sweet malty scent. Nothing overpowering, typical amber ale.
Definitely a caramel flavour off the top. Finishes with a slight malty flavour.
Not too carbonated, pretty decent balance, though slightly reminiscent of a porter. The feel is quite fitting for this amber.
I quite enjoyed this amber, and would definitely enjoy a couple at a time. By no means a mind blowing offering, but it still delivers a solid flavour and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious amber!

Oooooff. On tap at Louisiana Purchase. Mug of brownish amber brew shows up and I took one smell and was not surprised that it was sub par. Maybe it’s because I’ve never really liked this beer. Maybe that is the reason I have not drank it for probably 5 years. The smells was annoyingly sweet, caramel, light roast and a bit of fruit. Hard to focus when our waitress was dumb and had big tits. The taste was also much sweeter than I was hoping for. Caramel, breads and a bit of fruit... oooh great description. On the gassy side. There was a black plastic "WELCOME" mat under the urinal that made me smile. Did not really enjoy this beer yet drank 3 pints... go figure.

The flavor is basically comprised of some bread malts and carmel but with a little chocolate notes. I am also getting some nut flavor. This is well done and a decent balance of all the elements
On the nose i get some solid malts and nut and carmel
Pours an amber color with some ruby hue’s with a thin off white head and a small amount of lacing.
It finishes a little malty with some faint english hop’s. This is one of my favorite beer’s from alley kat. It states that it’s an amber but it is really a brown????
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cirrhosis (931) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 28, 2010
I don’t know why but it’s probably been 8 years since I drank one of these I really should pick up alley Kat more often. I guess you could call the color of this brew amber but it is really dark version of it, the limited cap produced during the pour reduced to nothing very quickly. Aroma is very sweet with caramel and has the aroma of vegetable hops and on long deep inhales I can smell metallic’s. Taste is so much better then I remember the malts are sweet and thick with lots of caramel and mild hints of biscuit. The beer is way hoppier then expected which is a good thing and by good I mean fawking awesome. The bitter hops and the caramel flavor are perfectly balanced in this, so very drinkable. I think I’ll but more.

Pretty basic, and underwhelming. Not much flavor just hints of some caramel, and thats about it. The hops are quite muted, and pretty bland.

Bottled. Roasted nuts and dark chocolate aroma. Deep copper in colour with an off white head and minimal lacing. Malty, nutty flavour with dark chocolate tones. Medium palate with a sweet finish.
