Bottle. Clear yellow body with no head. The aroma has some perfumey sweet spices. Flavour is fairly light on honey-specific sweetness but there is a fair dose of spiciness.

650ml brown bottle. Very pale colour - light straw yellow. White head quicky fades into a ring around the edge of the glass. Aroma is sweet and honeyish with a lot of sweet apples and cinnamon. Flavour is sweet and cidery. Ends dry with granny smith apple skin notes. Medium body, light carbonation. Does not quite come together for me...

***review from June 21, 2008***
Well, this can’t be good... Poured out a light light gold clear pinkish colour. The aroma was of cinnamon, apples, poplar sap (thx Brad for pointing that out) and something from a swimming pool change room. I have ’bleeeeeehh’ written down as my first word detailing the flavour. A very dry honey with wood and a slight cinnamon taste but it ends dull and is is overcarbonated. A bit syrupy (which is fine) and finishes dry with a wood / spice something for the aftertaste. Yes, it was money no wisely spent. But then again, I am just not fond of this style of mead.

"This is a mead brewed by Alley Kat, if you are familiar with Alley Kat I’ve said enough for you to know how this review will go but for those of you lucky enough to be outside their distribution area I’ll guess I’ll give you the breakdown of this crap. Appearance is pale ginger ale and that is all. Aroma is apple, cinnamon, pine and I guess just maybe a touch of honey it’s not overly sweet and actually as a mild sour quality to it. Taste is apple pie slightly sour touch of honey and a bunch of poplar tree sap. Taste gets stronger and more sickening as the liquid warms. This was way better then there raspberry mead and actually didn’t taste horrid but still nothing you want to subject yourself to drink or actually spend money on like I did but only because I lost a bet to a little blond midget I had to. Way to go Alley Kat you’ve struck out again. "

Clear and fizzy, tinted yellow, no head. Looks like a soda. Perfumey aroma of cinnamon spice, honey, and jasmine. It actually smells quite nice. Very sweet spicey spritzy palate. It was okay for a half glass or so, but just too sweet for me. I don’t think I’m a braggot mead fan.

A delicious mead, not sweet, but a tad spicy with apple and cinnamon flavour. Pretty good indeed!

Bottle courtesy of CBA: Poured a medium yellow color mead with a fizzy bubbly head reminiscent of champagne appearance. Aroma is dominated by cinnamon and is somewhat interesting. Taste is also dominated by cinnamon which may be slightly over the tops and some sweet notes of honey. Definitely better then their previous attempt last summer but in the end they could have slack down on the cinnamon.

[1050-20080112] 650mL (w/ garthicus, jerc, mds, Radek Kliber). Cinnamon aroma has a bit of toasted bread and hints of urinal cake spices. Clear, pale yellow body with no head. Sweet cinnamon syrup flavour has a bit of honey wheat. Light-medium body. Aside from strange aroma, has a nice balance.

Bottle courtesy of Presario. Pale yellow body with a sweet aroma of light honey and strong notes of cinnamon. (6+) Sweet flavour has moderate but prominent honey, muted floral heats, sweet cinnamon. Bit of a scented candle like note to it. (6+) Smooth average palate is lighter than expected. Pleasant, its a different sort of quaff but I enjoyed it. A bottle is likely best enjoyed shared.
