3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Smells of blueberry on the nose and pours an off copper color reflecting the actually blue berries used in the fermentation. One of the better blueberry beers I’ve had and a great summer beer.

Draft to pint glass
All I get on the nose is blueberries and hay. The colour is pale amber with no head. Blueberries and tangerine off the top. The blueberry lasts but the end is a bit barny.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
341mL bottle poured a slightly hazy golden color with a quick dissipating head and sporadic lacing. Aroma is of blueberries. Taste is light blueberry with light sweetness and mild hops in the finish. A very well balanced fruit beer, rather enjoyable. Some fruit beers just have way too much fruit and this one just right on the money.

Pint on tap at Fergus & Bix restaurant in Calgary, AB on 05/12/2011. Colour: Redidsh orange with medium white head. Nose: Blueberries, melted caramel, roasted yeast, some leather notes. Taste: Medium sweet, light bitter, light sour. Certainly lives up to its names with blueberry a-plenty but comes off a bit too sweet. Some marshmellow as well as calm malt. Nothing offensive and I do enjoy blueberries.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at the brewery. A novelty, blueberry in the aroma and in the taste. Light mouthfeel but hard carbonation. Lacey light golden. Fresh.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
The blueberries are apparent the moment the cap is removed and burst forth. Pours out a slightly hazed ruddy gold, quick splash of white head that disappears as soon as it appears.
The nose has a bit more complexity for a fruit beer, some grainy malt, grassy hops, a good dose of blueberries, plus some spicy warmth.
That spiciness transfers over into the flavour, some neautral malt up front, reserved blueberries, and some white pepper on the finish. It’s the white pepper that lingers on into the aftertaste as well, not the fruit.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bubbley finish.
I have ambivalent feelings about this one, it’s put together pretty well, but for a fruit beer the fruit is quite muted when all is said and done. Not one-dimensional, however I feel a bit cheated in the fruit department. The dry spiciness provides a nice quenching finish though.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
341ml brown bottle. Golden coloured beer with a small tiny bubbled white cap. Decent sweet blueberry nose. Flavour has a grainy dry malt base with light blueberry notes, sweetness is kept to a minimum. Wheaty finish. Medium carbonation and body. Has a refreshing quality to it, ok for summer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, brought to me by Parksy. Pours a pink-tinted brassy gold with a short-lived white head. Pleasant subtle real blueberry aroma intermingled with clean grains. Lighter palate, balanced equally between clean pale malts and light blueberry juice, slightly perfumey. I think they really nailed this one: a light, easy drinking lager with a real blueberry accent, nothing candyish, nothing fake, and most importantly not overpowering. I’ve always said that blueberry is my favourite fruit married to a lager, and this one is really nice as a summer patio pleaser.

2.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
From a Bottle. Was worried it was going to have a sweet/fruity aftertaste (not my thing), but was pleasantly surprised at the subtlety. You can taste the blueberry, but in no way overpowering. Underneath is a pretty standard lager. I give them props for attempting different beers like this!

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thankfully this was bought for me to try. Clear gold, thin white cap. Well, there’s the blueberry... no shortage of it in the aroma. In fact, there is too much but then again if it was too faint I’d still complain. Seems a bit syrupy, good wheat, too much sweet fruit and not much else. Thick wheat and blueberry taste that comes across a bit syrupy but I guess that cannot be helped. It’s not that bad tasting and it is also not overly sweet. Mediumish bodied, finishes with a good, short lived tang and a faint but long wheat and sweet finish.
