Ginger and a hint of cranberry make this soft malty golden ale an enjoyable Holiday cheer.

I’ll have to give this a bounce mark because it came with a bottle opener. What color is this? Murky brownish gold with this strange grey but not grey hue, thin white skiff floating on top. Aroma is fresh shredded ginger and I can smell something that I think is the cranberry but smells more like orange peel. Taste very gingery but more like pop then other ginger beers. the cranberry is now very apparent. Orange, fizzey, mild tart finish, sweet and bready. The longer I drink the more I like it. Orange/cranberry tea? I can drink this..........But will I ever again????....maybe I will, maybe I will.

Pours a very light honey like colour, golden yellow, very little amber coming through. Slightly hazy, but still rather clear, nice head forms but disappears quick, little carb. Smells like you’ve just juiced a ginger root of its juice and poured in the glass. But theres some sweetness, not really caramel as like crystallized ginger. Some vanilla in there too. None of the alley kat cheesy/nuttiness that only I seem to pick up on. It legitimately smells like the holidays, no cloves or anything like that, but it smells nice. Perhaps a slight bit of cran sweetness, not very tart smelling, but I suppose tart is a smell now is it? it tastes like a nice like and enlgish kind of pale with a strong ginger flavour. Again im not getting that alley kat musty-cheesiness that I normally get so its already a plus. The Ginger is definitely dominating, but its natural and not at all overpowering in the sense that it overwhelms my palate.no alcohol flavour, no hop bitterness, maybe slight grassiness tho. Malt is likea pale so its subdued. Its definitely a nice beer, I could drink many of them, I would necessarily make it my first choice or go to, but it is a really nice beer. Its pleaseant. Im torn between bored and pleased. Its not the most boring, but it doesn’t floor me, but I must say it is a one of the better alley kat brews I’ve had in a while.

Bottle, shared with my wife. Very hazy honey gold, average white head. Aroma is fresh ginger, rooty and real. Zesty gingery flavour, slightly soapy, no real heat. The cranberry isn’t so much a flavour as it is a tartness. I thought this was a terrific ginger beer, genuine and not to sweet.

Single bottle purchased from Willow Park Wine & Spirits on 12/17/2011. Colour: Grayish yellow with low white head. Nose: The ginger is quite evident, as is berry but its hard to distinguish what type of berry. The yeast is dulled down but still displays a fresh dough appeal. Traces of caramel. Taste: Light sweet, light bitter, medium-light sour. Spring flowers are abundant. A soapy note. Ginger and berry are both hard to pull out. A touch light but not offensive.

650ml brown bottle. Golden in colour, light haze. Full white head with a creamy texture. Good glass coating, messy lace. Big caramel malt nose, mild sweetness from berries, nice background ginger spice notes. Taste has up front cranberry fruit, nice warming ginger spice, caramel malts. Dry finish, aftertaste has some grain/malt, light ginger heat and light cranberry tartness. Spritzy carbonation, light bodied. Ended up liking this far more than I thought I would, the subtle ginger works very well.

I’m not a big fan of Ginger beers, but this one was actually quite good. The pour is a bright golden body with a finger of bright white head. There is no carbonation but light lacing. the nose is of a spicy ginger and a lovely light caramel malt. An overall sweetness and good ginger spice. There is not presence of cranberry in the nose. The taste is sweet with a light malt and a good ginger spice throughout. A lightly tart fruit note and an aftertaste of tart cranberry juice. There is a hint of hop presence. This has a nice ginger spice taste overall. The body is medium with no carbonation. Overall, Alley Kat did a good job on this style (a style I don;t usually like).

Bottle. Ginger coloured, well carbonated but no head. Light ginger scent is wrapped in a weird way by the cranberry. Almost an orange zest in the nose. Flavour is light and muddied with a lingering longer ginger essence. The cranberry may soften the ginger but les not make a distinguishing mark on its own. Holds the ginger well but more soda pop than beer-like.

650ml bottle pours a deep clear golden color with about a finger of white head and some very nice lace. Aroma is light with cranberry and a hint of ginger. Taste is light malty and fruity sweetness with a mild hop bitterness and a tart finish. Finishes dry with a light to medium body and moderate carbonation. This is a nicely done fruit beer.

Fairly good ginger beer. The name is "clever" but I am not sure why you’d want to associate cringing with your beer! I didn’t really taste too much cranberry in the beer and had the bottle not told me so I wouldn’t have even noticed it. I recently had a Crabbie’s and this was a much more mellow ginger.
