Bottle. Bright orange gold, thick creamy cream-coloured crown that retains beautifully. Aroma is fresh fragrant tropical fruit-- papaya, melon, orange-- with underlying notes of golden syrup and wood. Sweet ripe tropical fruit flavours with a big bitter citrus oil finish. Medium to full bodied, oily mouthfeel. So fresh and tasty!

Bottle. Dark amber with light enough head to empty the bottle in my pint glass. Aroma is interesting floral and wood mix which seems complex for single hop beer. Flavor has the same tasty notes. Like a strong woody ESB. Hint of dark sugar, candy and pretzels.

650ml bottle pours a clear golden color when held to the light with a finger of white head and some nice thich lacing left behind. Aroma is citrusy hops. Taste is light grapefruit bitterness balanced nicely with a light malty sweetness. This is truly representative of an American northest style IPA and was honestly a pleasure to have tasted. Outstanding.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 TimE (2586) - Tokyo, JAPAN - MAY 7, 2012
Dried apricot, pine and a hearty dose of caramel. A touch of earthiness. Smooth, flowery, earthy, woody. Not overly bitter, but nice malt backbone. Enjoyable an not
Over the top. Not tons of bitterness.

650ml bomber.
Cleam amber pour, rocky white head, sticky lacing. Aroma is resinous, lots of pine, even some spruce. Sweet orange citrus and a little butter (diacetyl?)
Mouth feel and carbonation are spot on. Finish is very bitter, and leaves a peppery resinous pine flavor. Decent ipa, not sure its a dipa.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pintbypint (1975) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 2, 2011
650ml brown bottle. Golden pour, small cap, creamy and tight. Good sticking lace in the glass. Nose has and herbal, pungent woody hop note from the Columbus hops, backed with some caramel malt sweetness. Taste has a caramel malt base, with a smooth piney finish, milder bitterness than expected. Medium body, average carbonation profile. Pretty tasty.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 VerticalBaconStrips (1897) - Assat, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 2, 2012
Poured out a clear light amber brew with a large frothy off white head that sticks pretty well and hangs around. Decent aroma but lacing depth. Candy sweet aroma that is similar to cotton candy without that typical cotton candy aroma if that makes sense - closer to a cherry version, unique light pine I think, tropical stuff, mango, lots of caramel sweetness, floral notes as well - the tropical aroma is the defining character. A hard bitterness hits my ’buds quickly but wavers in strength here and there, rrgf, stiff pine tingles my senses, peaches, all in a non beating strength, the bitterness has reared its tasty head again, caramel, light tang. Seems a bit more than medium bodied... hmm... semi-thick sweet finish with the standard bitterness. Pretty good beer and very drinkable. I’ll get another and put it up against a similar brew for curiosity. Nice beer.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 patricks110 (1212) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2011
I was very anxious to try this brew after the great sucess of the red Dragon. This one pours out a rather boring light golden orange with a finger of yellowish head. Thick lines of sticky lacing are left on the glass. On the nose, a rather bland hop presesnce for an Imperial IPA with light caramel malts and mild grapefruit notes. Light caramel and sweet grapefruit in the middle with a hint of hop spice and grass. Light apricot and an herbal pine. Subtle, sweet tropical fruits such as pineapple and apricot are noted. The finish has a good bitterness and a resinous smack with a little bit of hop presence. A lingering aftertaste of hop bitterness and a light hop spiciness. Blue Dragon has a medium-to-full body with a resinous, hot and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, a great DIPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 gramity (1055) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 12, 2011
Poured a gorgeous golden amber with some thick fluffy white head. Retention was decent and heavy on the lacing. Aroma was all grapefruit citrus for me and very appealing. Taste is citrus and grapefruit from the hops but a very evident malt backbone is present. Just the right touch of sweetness from the malts. Finish is bitter and delicious. Really enjoyed this one.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Powertrip (999) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 16, 2011
Single bottle purchased on 12/15/2011 at Kensington Wine Market in Calgary, AB. Colour: A unique deep gold with minimal head. Nose: The hops are laced with honey and cherry. Some toffee stands alone. Candle wax also says hello. Taste: Medium sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Some bubble gum amongst piney hops. At 100 IBU, I thought this would pack more of a yummy bitter punch, but the high sweetness of it seems to cut into that punch and soften it up a bit too much.
