2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cirrhosis (1071) - Edmonton, Alberta, - AUG 11, 2012Crystal clear body with tall rocky cap floating on top, looks to clean. Aroma is lemon, sour bubble gum, hints of ruby red grapefruit, all to mild. Taste is better. bitter dirt, lemon, i will completly agree with VB’s apricot, random sweetness........to much sweetness. Wish the toasty malts where higher quality. Bitter aftertaste lingers forever. Completely drinkable and completely forgettable.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reimer96 (584) - Alberta, CANADA - NOV 11, 2012
Pours a clear yellowish gold with a frothy white head that dissipates quickly but leaves lots of sticky lace. Aroma is malty, citrus and bread notes. Taste is a big mouthful of bitter hops with a nice clean balance of sweet malts on the finish. Good ipa, average for the series.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 cdbob (12) - Alberta, CANADA - OCT 21, 2012
A somewhat average ipa. With the mention of cascade hops I was excited however the orange dragon with summit hops is a much better beer.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 patricks110 (1212) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 30, 2012
Very average again. Pours a bright yellow, unfiltered and sparkling with a thick two finger yellow head. The nose is metallic and green hops with light citrus and some caramel. The flavour is similar, bland hop flavor with some citrus and caramel. Not too much bitterness on the finish either.
2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mcberko (4045) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 18, 2012
650mL bottle, pours a hazy vibrant orange with a small off-white head. Nose is quite vegetal, with coppery malts, metallic notes, not a lot of hops, and unpleasant vegetal character dominating. Flavour thankfully doesn’t have this vegetal character, with lots of dry caramel, some crackery malt and unpleasant medicinal hoppy bitterness which lingers for a long time - very high annoying astringency. Not undrinkable but something went wrong here - and the Cascade hops probably don’t help. Not too good.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Narnad (1340) - Wonder Lake, Illinois, USA - SEP 17, 2012
Pours a very clean copper color with a very nice cream colored, tall head. Aroma has a modest amount of hoppy nose for the style. The warrior hops bitterness is really prevalent in the nose with a creamy, vanilla/butterscotch like kick. Later citrus orange and light grapefruit come into play. Flavor has a strong caramel kick with a very creamy, citrus flavor. Very creamy as a whole with a modest amount of carbonation. Overall an okay brew. I wish they would of focused less on the IBUS and more on the overall flavor, which is pretty good. Not too hoppy but hoppy enough to make it a pretty enjoyable brew. Alcohol hits harder than I typically feel.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 cfrancis (1764) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 14, 2012
Thanks to Riemer for this. Pours a clear golden yellow with a small fizzy white top. Aroma is bready, grain hop flavours. Taste is mostly hop bitterness without the sweet malt balance. Bold, upfront cascade hops. But lacking in the aftertaste.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 thb (608) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 14, 2012
Light orange with half inch of foam. Aroma is bright, northwest hops with grapefruit and pine. Taste is hop heavy from start to finish, with a little more complexity than others in the series. Moves to a serious bitterness on the finish. Slightly chalky finish. Again needs more of a malt backbone. Bitterness somewhat overwhelming.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (3229) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2012
Bottle from Kensington Wine Market, Calgary. It pours clear orange-amber, with a thick beige head. The nose is sweaty sock, orange, grapefruit, hint of earth, caramel sweetness and a hint of bubblegum. The taste is zesty citrus, grapefruit, waxy lemon rind, orange peel, pine, toasted malt, metal, earth notes and dirt, with a long, very bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Not bad.
2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 SSLS (1) - Alberta, CANADA - SEP 1, 2012 does not count
Pours and smells nice, great golden colour with lemon and grapefruit on the nose. Maybe I need to retry, but this was actually offensive on the palate. Not impressed with the indigo, this one was tough to finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ferris (484) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 30, 2012
Draft - Slightly sweet like candy floss, very mellow hop character. Clear gold with a fizzy head. You can taste the hoppy sweetness, but you are immediately hit with a bitterness that lingers way too long. I remember this being better in the bottle and will re-rate when I try it again.
