3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating #965 - February 10, 2014. Honoured to be the first rater of 2014ís first Dragon. $6.59 CAD for a 650mL Bomber from Coop. Pours a golden yellow, very light for a DIPA. Aroma is lemon, citrus, spicy herbal notes. Medium carbonation, medium alcohol warmth. Balance is superb, lots of cool bitterness but sharpened with the citrus zest and spicy hops. Great job, Dragon.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear golden yellow with not many bubbles. Thin film of white foam. Seems lighter in colour than others in the series (if i remember right). Aroma is lemon, and soap. Ricola-flavoured dish soap? Anyway itís not at all unpleasant, just very different. The base beer seems less aggressive than previous versions - hard to believe changing the hop would have that much difference. Smooth, sweet finish. Alcohol hidden.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Alley Kat is local for me so I always love trying their new beers. The Dragon series is particularly great and this one is no exception. Strong hoppy aroma, I am drinking this straight out of the 650ml bottle like a bo$$. Not extremely bitter for 75 IBUs first off, tons of great lemon and floral hop notes in this one. Some great herb and spice flavors going on as well. Crisp and refreshing!

8oz glass served at Beer Revolution in Edmonton. Nice balance - good ipa. Not overly hoppy.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A little more than a finger of head, settles into 1/2 a micro head.
I get flower stems, spruce, lemon peels and something in the background that says dill pickle.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I love alley Kat and most of there products and I enjoyed ten unowned of this ipa but Iím not to particularly fond of the hop used. I do get mostly herbal flavours and bitterness and a slight lemon who is nice but there is also some other flavours that arenít really desirable that I think take away from the overall impression of this brew.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bomber pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that settles to leaves some pretty nice lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma is citrus with some herbal notes. Taste is a bold lemon zest and herbal hop bitterness with some underlying malty sweetness. Medium bodied with average carbonation leaving a nice tingle on the palate. Overall, this is a very well done DIPA. Definitely recommended for the hop heads out there.
