I saved the first 8 Alley Kat Dragon Series to taste them all together. I don't know if the series is done, but I can't wait longer as the first few are getting old. So here goes... Bottle to pils glass Aroma of orange, pomelo, pineapple and papaya. Clear amber with a thin white head. Taste of orange and grapefruit with a bitter finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from the brewery. Not bad, but not great. This was a bottle they were holding on to from the release, so it’s not the freshest and some of the hopping had faded, but overall it had a nice clean orange body with some good fruity hop notes rising out of the glass. The fading of the hops left it a tad more bitter than flavourful, but not so much that it ruined it. Would like to try it fresh on tap, I think that would help bring some of those tasty hops to life.

Bottle - What do you know, I smell orange. Is that coincidence or subliminal messaging from the title. Grassy, flowery and orange. Clear copper and a nice thick head. Orange carries through, with some grapefruit and bitterness. A pedestrian IIPA.

its late, im mostly incoherent adn my feet and nipples are cold.thai food and perogies covered in onion powder to go along with massive massive beers hasve led me to this moment in my life. another AK dragon beer. Let us begin the disappointemtn pf the beer and my pathetic spelling. I’m not even sure if I’m blinking any more. Best labels AK has ever done. Too bad the beers cannot follow. Sweet sugar bomb, some welcoming fragrancew, honey, there is more but im mostly aslepp. more detail isnt going to make a differnce anyway. this is bery easy to drink but i forsee a head ache after the 8 or 9L mark. sweet with lemon and honey and mild bitterness that lingers in a stronger form than before, lime, caramel, not bad. Thankfully I have an endless stream of Suicidal Tendencies blasting my senses at 4:24am

Thanks to Reimer for this. Aroma is small floral hop and sweet malts. Taste is a nice floral hop bitterness and balanced nicely with a slight biscuit malt sweetness.

Pours a clear orange copper color with a white head that has nice retention. Little bit of lace is left around the glass. Smells sweet and piney and tastes very malty up front with a nice punch of hops that will stick around for a while

Orange hops, bold aloma and taste, is it Summit? Orange body and very lacey. A big IBU and big bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, hops backed by malt liquor flavour.Dry finish. Some palate erasing. Bottle from Presario.

Pours orange with a bit of white head. Smell is hoppy citrus, a bit of tangerine. Palate is on the lighter side of medium bodied. Taste is bitter at first, the gets a slight sweetness but reverts back to a hoppy bitter aftertaste. Good, but not great.

Single bottle purchased at Willow Park Wine & Spirits in Calgary, AB on 10/13/2012. Colour: Light orange with traces of yellow and medium head. Nose: Strangely enough, orange creamsicle is forefront! Also some melted soft caramel. Wet driftwood, more in depth fruits (plum). Taste: medium sweet, medium-high bitter, medium sour. A little bit of everything here! A definite soapiness initially, then long and stringent bitterness sets in mid palate to a late finish and doesn’t let up. Along its wave are notes of sour soother, market fresh apple, and drizzled caramel. Extremely solid.

Dear Penthouse, I never thought it would happen to me! I went into this ice cream parlour at closing time. The place was empty and the tall young blonde behind the counter winked and said since it was closing time I could have anything I wanted. Smiling at the way she said "anything’, I asked for something really hoppy. Her smile disappeared and she said it wasn’t that kind of place so I went next door to the liquor store and bought this frothy headed dark amber bombshell to take home for the night. Sharp citrus nose with a hint of nectarine. Layered, herbal flavour keeps evolving. These are some nice hops and well showcased. Solid malt and a hop candy aftertaste. Waves of cloudy citrus cut with nectarine and hints of peach.
