hip_hop (84), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2008 Bottle at Bottlescrew Bills in Calgary. A nice fruity, hoppy pale ale served in inappropriate glassware. Lemon and fresh cut grass scent. Tastes moderately balanced. Not bad. patricks110 (154), Alberta, Canada Aug 1, 2008 Had ina bottle at Bottlescrew Bills calgary, AB. Pours at startling bright copper golden colour with aaverage sized head. An aroma of citrus and fruit is present. Hints of grass and predominantly citrus are first acknowledged. The beer tastes sweet and citrussy with a substantial but not overpowering hop taste. A very good pale ale and a drinkable crisp clean beer. Yet another great beer from Alley Kat. I hope to try the barley wine next. dkachur (778), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jul 20, 2008 From cvillebeergeek.blogspot.com...
Appearance: A copper-tinged golden pour with a half-finger head. Retention and lacing are both poor. 3.0/5.0.
Aroma: Aroma is faint. Citrus and slightly vegetal hops, with a subtle grainy background. 3.0/5.0
Taste: A sweet grainy taste takes the forefront, melded fairly well with a subtle citrus hop profile. Slightly vegetal finish. 3.4/5.0
Mouthfeel: The carbonation feels lively on the tongue. Bitterness is kept in check by a fairly large malt bill. The flavors blend fairly well, making for a very pleasant session beer. 4.0/5.0
Drinkability: A highly drinkable beer. Nicely balanced, nice flavors and not too potent. Perfect as an accompaniment to a robust meal. 4.0/5.0.
Overall: The website claims this is a west coast style pale ale. It’s not. It is a nice mellow, but flavorful English style pale ale. Heavily drinkable, and at 5%, on the high side for a session beer, but still perfectly sessionable. Massive thanks to Sean for braving the ferocious Albertan storms to bring this one to Chris & me. 3.55/5.0 patrick767 (1403), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 25, 2008 tap at 3 Alley in Seoul - Pours amber orange with a mild citrus hop aorma. The caramel malt is well balanced with the fairly asswertive hops. It’s medium bodied and quite drinkable, definitely one of the better beers I found in Seoul.
