"Beer appears crystal clear reddish brawn with a noisy tan cap that is quickly reducing to nothing. Right off the top the aroma reminds me exactly of apple cinnamon yogurt. I guess can smell pumpkin in this but I might just be being tricked by the name of the brew. Aroma is ok maybe just a touch sour. Taste is watery and malty with a cinnamon kick and a clove finish. Can’t really notice any pumpkin in the taste but it does remind me of pumpkin pie. Sour, watery and a touch of spice this sums up this brew. Drinkable but disappointing but what ells do you expect from Alley Kat."

341mL bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, rather than pumpkin. Flavour is the same, with some pumpkin pie. Boring / decent.

From a bottle. Very good Pumpkin flavored beer. Tastes like drinking a piece of pumpkin pie!

341mL bottles poured golden-amber color with small white head and virtually no lacing. Aromas are the high point of this beer with pumpkin and nutmeg and cinnamon dominating. Taste is of pumpkin pie spices and some hop bitterness in the finish mixed with more spices. Quite a nicely done beer with a decent balance of flavors.

Wasn’t sure this would work, especially because I’m not a huge pumpkin pie fan but this beer is good. Smells and has a pumpkin pie start, finishes with a touch of bitterness

Golden clear amber pour with small off white head. Aroma of nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste of pumpkin pie and nutmeg with a bit of cinnamon. Nice taste until the aftertaste took over which was not all that pleasant. Could of easily scored much higher because of that.

Pours a pale golden copper colour, finger of head (after an aggressive pour) little retention, body barbonation is almost non-existent and no real lacing. Scent is rather mild, but the nutmeg seems to dominate followed by some green pumpkin, some cinnamon and leafy hops on the finish. The spices really shine on this one, with nutmeg and cinnamon coming through. The pumpkin comes through on the finish and and is a bit nutty with some bready caramel malts that linger on the tongue. Medium bodied ale, goes down smooth with a touch of a dry finish. I thought it would be a bit more watery given the lack of visible body carbonation. Overall this pumpkin offering is quite tasty, easily drinkable, and is the perfect complement to a fall meal

Bottle. 5.4%. Clear copper-amber pour, that produces a minimal bubbly foam even when poured aggressively. Aroma is potent, quite a bit of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of pumpkin. Taste is malty and heavy on the nutmeg, hint of cinnamon, and sweet caramel. This is a pretty good seasonal, and despite the presence of fairly heavy flavours, it remains a balanced, full bodied ale.

The flavor has some good malt, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg. There is nothing that is really overpowering. It feels balanced. The aroma steals the shows in this one. There is good cinnamon and nutmeg and a touch of pumpkin. It’s just smells great. The warmer it get’s the better the aroma is. Pours a deep copper color with a nice off white head that quickly disappears to a thin ring. It finishes with some good lingering spices. I have to say that I am not a fan of pumpkin pie. But i am constantly reaching for another one of these. I think they did a great job with this one.

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2010 Smells great, you really get the spices in the nose - cinnamon and it really does smell like pumpkin pie. Brownish red, it is quick thick and cloudy, a bit of head, ok lacing. Looks better in the glass than I expected for something that isn’t bottle conditioned. Smooth uptake on the sweetness of the malts, a bit spicy from the herbs and the pumpkin (?) flavour. The problem here is, as I have a few more sips I only can smell diapers now when I get it close to my nose. NO, it’s the poweder smell to cover up the diaper smell from the diaper genie! ok, so my smell memory is great but that smell really doesn’t belong in my beer... good thing I smelled it before I got the taste mixed up in my nose. Fairly creamy on the tounge, a bit of spice flavour and then it fades. Pretty good, I’ve bought this a few times now for something different. Next edition 15th anniversary : pretty much the same, I’m not geting the diaper smell this time... but I CAN see where on the right night your nose would be in that place. The head’lacing is even weaker, but the spice/flavour combination is even more spot on. I used to hate pumpkin pie as a kid and now I love it, I bought 2 at the store when they were festively on sale and this beer is jus like the pie spices, minus the crust flavour. I really prefer a thicker (bottle conditioned) beer, and this one is after a Rochefort 10 and 6, so I’m pretty judemental, but this one still tastes right.

Pours brown with a thin head. Pleasant aroma of cinimon and nut met. it really smells like pumpkin pie. Thick creamy brew with lots of spices and malty flavour. however I feel that this beer is way too heavy on the nut meg. Its almost like drinking cheap spiced rum. I can see why people like it but deffinatley not my thing.
