3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bomber - thanks to graham. Ruby hued dark brown with a creamy mocha head that settles. At first the metallic aroma overwhelmed everything, but after about 20 minutes, and multiple sips, it eventually fades and the completely disappeared which turned this beer into an almost pour out to something tasty. Chocolate, roasted malts, some alcohol, sweet, some toffee and fruit. Mild body considering, low carbonation, sweet, ligher alcohol, some more fruit, a lot of bitterness on the finish combined with anise.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a pitch black letting very little light through and a small tan coloured ring around the glass with good legs. Aroma is dark chocolate, roasted malts, sweet dark fruits, vanilla and a touch of alcohol. Flavour is chocolate, licorice, roasted malts, some malty sweetness, dried fruit, dark malt bitterness and a bit of alcohol bite. Tasty beer and love the support for the home brew community!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Strong smell of chocolate and vanilla. Very strong on the palate, you can really taste the booze, not bad but for sure a sipper.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Has a great smell of chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Pours a dark black with a head that dissipates quickly with little to no lace. Taste is sweet with a very roast malt and then finishes with a boozy taste bit isn’t horrible for a 10 percent beer. Worth trying and not nearly as bad as some reviews on here.

March 4, 2011 - with blankboy, garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel: 650ml bottle courtesy of jerc & mabel. Nearly opaque ruby-black with a smallish lasting beige frothy/creamy head. Your standard impy aroma - deep roast, raisin, some alcohol, coffee. The taste follows, but there is a building metal character that detracted from the enjoyment - dry, wheaty, with raisin and plenty of booze - background dry herbal bitterness. Average body, mildly carbonated, increasingly dry herbal bitterness in the finish and a bit boozy. Ehhhh - a little metallic and harsh.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Jet black colour. Has a boozy/port aroma mixed with stewed fruit and chocolate. Burnt toast. Again, I find all the beers from this brewery to be reduced and overfiltered. Flavours are boozy, bitter chocolate and roast. Out of balance and not very complex although it is my favorite of the bunch so far.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650mL bottle poured a deep dark brown with reddish highlights to the light. Big beige head with nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is sweet maltiness with some bitter chocolate and hops in the finish. Medium to heavy body and moderate carbonation. Overall, this is quite an outstanding beer with the alcohol well hidden.
