Bottle. Really dark, old penny copper colour with a dense light tan head that settles into a persistent uniform 5mm mattress that leaves spidery fingers of lace deep into the glass. Aroma is initially quite brothy, but as the beer warms, cream and cocoa with roasty undertones become the dominant bouquet. Flavour is cocoa, bitter roast, with some nice fruity acidity lending a bit of tartness to the mid-palate. There are dark fruits in here as well. The finish is surprisingly bitter, beyond just simple hard roast. Mouthfeel is creamy and medium-to-full bodied. A truly fantastic porter, very enjoyable.

Pours black as oil, with a thick brown head. It has a very robust roasted malt aroma with delicate chocolate notes. Very strong dark chocolate flavour with a dry bitter finish. It reminds me of bakers chocolate. It has the perfect body and mouth feel this is a great porter.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 patricks110 (901) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 22, 2011
The pour is a pure, jet black with a finger of creamy beige head. Rings of beautiful yellowish head stick to the glass but dissipate quickly. The nose is a robust, dry roast with notes of chocolate. burnt wood, coffee, liquorice and dark fruits. A light hop is also noticed on the nose. The taste is sweet and malty in the middle with a nice dry finish. A nice chocolate with a hint of coffee in the middle make way to a smooth, slightly bittered and dry finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, but this brew has a medium body and a nice creamy drinkability. Overall, this is a great porter. Good work!!

341mL bottle poured almost black into glass with beige head that settled quickly to light lacing. Aromas of roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is malty sweet with a hint of chocolate and some light hops in the background. Medium bodied and robust carbonation give a nice mouthfeel. A very fine porter indeed.

Bottle from brother-in-law. Dark and tasty. This is a great representation of the style. Notes of chocolate and coffee but nothing too in your face.

Bold tasting, spot on style. Opaque black, above average mouthfeel. A must try porter, no gimmicks. Some chocolate. Good roasted aromas and roasted malt taste.
Thanks Presario.

341ml brown bottle. Deep brown colour. Head is compact, beige colour, thins out to a light film. Big dark chocolate nose, some roast. Flavour is bitter dark chocolate up front, elements of dark earth and black coffee. Aftertaste has an undertone of chocolate sweetness but carries over the coffee and roast quite nicely. Dry end, some light bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation, good drinkability. Very nice porter, especially if you like chocolate covered coffee beans.

Bottle. Dark beer with a lasting thin head. Nice roast malt scent, with some rubber and hints of chocolate. Big body has a dark bitter chocolate milk texture and flavour. Very enjoyable drink. A bit of stickiness on the lips.
