Bottle: Poured a golden yellow color ale with a small bubbly white head with average retention. Aroma of sweet malt is pretty subdued with some subtle spices also being noticeable. Taste is a mix between some light pepper note and weak sweet malt. Body is definitely too thin and carbonation is not strong enough. Not bad overall but lacking a malt presence and probably more yeast character would have help this one.

Originally reviewed Jan. 7, 2007: cloudy light gold colour. poured with a thin light head. melon-y smells present. strong tastes of grapefruit and slight orange. slight tingle on the tongue that isn't frowned upon. decent beer.

341mL bottle poured hazy golden color with moderate white head that settled to fine lacing. Aromas of wheat and citrus. Taste is slightly sour and citrus. Light to medium body and nice carbonation provides a nice mouthfeel. A very interesting beer.

Pours a bubbly, sudsy, slightly cloudy gold. Nice Lacing. Strong immediate aroma of orange - smells rather like a a rickard’s white with the orange added - but it tastes a good deal better! Very crisp, clean, easy-drinking beer. The citrus is strong on the nose and on the finish - in between it tastes pretty generic, but inoffensive. It also doesn’t really taste like an ale, but whatever! The sourness works really well. A little too watery and one-dimensional to be a great beer, but it’s definitely worth a shot.

12oz capped. Chill hazed golden yellow with a flabby white head. Green hay, wild flower honey, apple, touch of corn and some light citric acid. A really strange combo of citric acid and sweet bright floral with this bready malt that is super assertive. Very contrasting and not complimentay of each other.

Off wheaty nose nose, light citrus maybe but mostly wheat and a little funky vinegar perhaps? Pours hazy golden. Flavor is wheaty, weird off flavors and some vinegary tart notes(moderate). Weird off flavors throughout. Bitey carb.

In short: A rustic (as in rusty kind of way) citrusy Saison with peppery notes. A surprisingly decent session beer.
How: Bottle 341ml. Consumed fresh on the summer of release. Sent to me by Hobbersr. Thanks a lot Riley.
The look: Some yeast particles in a clear golden body topped by a medium white head with good retention
In long: Nose is pleasantly rustic with also leafy hops presence. Taste is moderately fruity (citrus mainly), light caramel, some tobacco leaves, some acidity, rust, mild bitterness. Finish is medium dry with peppery notes. Certainly not the most authentic Saison ever but it does have a light Saison character going for it. Certainly not memorable but I think this is a very drinkable beer. It currently averages below 3.0 and this usually means it is a trainwreck. Not only is it not a trainwreck but I could drink a few more bottles of this. Not great by any means but still underrated. Quite drinkable which is what I expect from a Summer Beer. Come to think of it that’s also what I expect from any other season beer.

341ml brown bottle. Gold colour with a full white head. Good lace. Sweet aroma with oranges, caramel. Malty flavour, some nutty malts, citrusy notes and a little pepper. Finishes with grapefruit and orange hops, dry end.

Light amber color. Light grapefruit nose. Light body, but grainy and not balanced. Light finish. Had after some real Saisons. This is nothing but bad imitation and moreover is not a saison. Not sure why they bothered.
