Wal (5), Berlin, Germany does not count Sep 4, 2008 There is something beautiful about a 8 year old german boy with a big old stein of beer on the label. All this rubbish about alcohol is bad for kids, the sooner they learn the more responsible they are with it!
This beer has a dirty sour bitterness to it, almost a mustiness. almost like rolling up and smoking some of a mummy at the british museum. Deep amber colour bordering on piss. Feels like a beer and a cigarette at the same time, but leaves you with one free hand to scratch your balls. MrRain (305), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Aug 30, 2008 1/2 liter bottle poured into an English pint glass. ABB pours murky orange with a medium-sized head. It has a lager-ish smell that is fresh but watery. The body is pretty smooth and the taste mild. There is a heavy flavor of grains. This beer appears to be made with water that has a nice granite flavor in it. A lot of the other Allgauer beers hide the water flavor but this one is light enough to let it through. The finish is stealthy; the beer just slips away into the gullet with nary a farewell. bhensonb (2880), Woodland, California, USA Aug 21, 2008 Bottle from Hi-Time. Poured a clear orangey gold color with a decent white head. Aroma is bready/grainy with something like a citrus hop. Not quite medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is a bit wheaty, lightly grapey, with mildly bitter hop. Very decent drink with none of the common light lager obnoxiousness. It really doesn’t come across as a light lager. Angeloregon (1891), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 18, 2008 Bottle from Johns Market Place in Portland, OR--Poured a golden yellow hazy body with a thick white head. Bready, grainy nose with earthy mineral nose and a faint hops spiciness. Highly sessionable, but nothing standout. wxman (447), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA Jul 17, 2008 Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a pretty decent white head that laces the glass. Fresh bread dough and spice aroma. Sweet pale malt flavor along with a little hop bitterness and the slightest citrus notes. Pretty decent helles; could be a little maltier. Nevertheless very good.
