argo0 (6167), Washington DC, USA Oct 25, 2005 (500ml bottle) Lightly hazed golden body topped by big off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, green apple, bread, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, bread, apple, faint earthy. Watery light-medium body, minimal carbonation. BückDich (4540), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 3, 2008 Bottle: Amber color, light head and lacing. Nose of faint malty grains and some light lagery esters like a russian malt liquor might possess. The flavor has a nice mouthfeel with some full caripils notes and some munichy type malts. Overall it feels a bit adjuncted and maybe a bit too sweet. acrdz (4283), Boulder, Colorado, USA Sep 21, 2007 Pours a clear honey orange color with a white head, decent lacing and nice looking foamy bubbles. First impression of the nose is that it has a bit more corn and skunky yeast/old hops than expected, with a resemblance to pale lager that is hard to shake. It seems to lack any sort of “festive” smell, which is what I would characterize as fresh cut hay, light, dry hops, and maybe some mild squash. Doesn’t have much of that, instead it tastes like straightforward light malts and some wet and soggy corn. I assume that this is a fresh bottle, since it hasn’t been in the US for long (this season is the first, I think). But could this possibly be old stock that was pushed overseas? Ernest (4216), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2002 Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is
dark yellow, light density of small particles. Aroma is moderately malty
(light bread, grain), lightly hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately
sweet, moderately bitter. Finish is moderately bitter. Medium body,
watery texture, lively carbonation, slightly metallic. Yeah, that
metallic aftertaste hurts this one. Pleasant aroma (a tad grainy,
however) and otherwise good flavor balance, though. tiggmtl (4180), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 28, 2005 Bready malt forward aroma with notes of bubblegum and herbal, floral hops apparent. Hazy deep golden body is topped by a dense, fine bubbled, white head that recedes slowly to a lasting cover with nice lacing. Pleasant sweet malt flavour has notes of rye-like spice and herbal, grassy hops with light finishing bitterness. Medium body with soft bubbles that feel somewhat still despite the carbonation. Tulip glass. Allowed to warm from fridge temperature. Bottle (State Line Liquors, MD, Oct-05).
