COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
A well balanced golden coloured ale, easy drinking and refreshing.
Named after a local coal mine, California is an extremely clean drinking golden coloured ale with a zesty and fruity aroma. Brewed with gently-kilned malts and an aromatic blend of American hops, this 3.8% beer has exceptional poise. Its distinct hop flavour leads to a refreshing and dry finish.
California has firmly established itself as All Gates Flagship Beer; winner of Bitter Category Leicester Beer Festival 2009 as ’Groundhop Day’.

Cask conditioned at Minehead Beer Fest ’11. Pale gold with white head. Quite light in the body, there is a biscuity malt note than a good pleasant sweetish lemon hop note. It finishes fairly bitter. More complex than expected. Nice beer.

Cask (GBBF2011)
SImple malty body, gentle hop aroma. Sweet light grains dominate, but it’s dull in the mouth. The finish at least is pleasantly hoppy.

Cask@GBBF2011. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is bread, floral notes, some fruity and nutty notes with mild honey and some maltyness as well. Flavour is rather much the same in a pleasant balance.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Pours a golden colour with a thin white head. Plenty of hops in the aroma with more than a hint of grapefruit, the taste is all citrus especially grapefruit flavours with a dry bitter finish.

On cask at Odiham and Greywell Cricket Club. Poured a light golden colour with a pleasant hoppy aroma. Distinct lemon, citrus overtones with a well balanced sweetness. Overall a very pleasing beer indeed, crisp, refreshing, light and packed with flavour. Very good light session ale, perfect for in the summer months I would imagine.
