COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Seasonal - December & January.
A full flavoured dark beer with subtle chocolate aromas from roasted chocolate malts enhanced with the flavours from natural cocoa nibs and mandarin peel to give a hint of orange; lightly hopped with the traditional English varieties, East Kent Goldings and Fuggles.

On draught at the Piccadilly(??), Manchester. Brown pour with a reddish tint, beige head. Chocolate, coffee and raisin nose. Subtle chocolate angle, sweet malt approach. Nice.

Cask at the Coach and Four, Wilmslow. Pours black with a large, off-white head. Aroma is bitter chocolate with a little roast. Taste has some roast to start and a bitter chocolate finish.

Cask at The Friendship, Fallowfield. Can’t really add to the commercial description above. Light on the palate for the style and a bittersweet finish. The orange notes were a pleasant surprise. Good winter beer.

Cask Stillage at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke on Trent 22/10/2010 Fruit and roast aromas. Black rich on the palate and hoppy with a fruity orange flavour. A hint of dryness in a burnt roast finish.
