COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Occasional.
Rev. Ray is brewed as a traditional Best Bitter using Maris Otter and Crystal malts. The hops are English East Kent Goldings and Challenger plus American Liberty; resulting in a peppery hop, ripe vine fruit and biscuity malt flavour that cascades across the tongue. Typical of All Gates beers Rev. Ray relies on the late addition of the aromatic hops.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 11/12/09. Dark amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel, red fruits and slightly spicy hops. Flavour was much the same with a decent, bitter finish. Ok.

Cask at The Friendship, Fallowfield. Dull as ditch water and very possibly used as a source. Overly sweet and little else as a definable characteristic.

Bright amber with a short head. Little scent: floral and grassy. Very thin - almost like still, sugary, water. Some bitterness. Disappointing.
