   AROMA 3/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20
edpeg (838) - Berlin, GERMANY - MAR 8, 2013
Pours dark yellow clear, with white rocky head. Aromas are toffee, grains, malts. Palate is slick, medium bodied. Carbonation is mouthful, soft and smooth. Taste is sweetish, roast malty, with notes of floral hops and dryness with some fruitiness. Finish is medium long, fruity with plums and mild end. Easy to drink, texture is thick enough. But still basic malty Märzen bier.

stevoj (2336) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUL 3, 2012
Crisp and clean is the best way to describe this spring brew. Poured into a half liter pilsener glass, faint head and no lacing on the glass. Smooth character goes down easily, just a hint of bitterness left in the mouth. Extremely drinkable. Another winner from Allgäuer Brauhaus

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. A creamy Marzen, with a quite powerful bitter hit. KnutAlbert beautifully describes the herbal and mint notes. Also a lot of sweet malt. Hard, crisp, nice.

Swing top bottle from a Getränkemarkt in Berlin. Strong malty beer, herbal and minty hops. Pleasant, easy drinking, not too strong, quite complex. A session with 3-4 of these would be fine.

Tasting at Papsø
Deep blond color; small creamy head. Very nice aroma, delicate, smoke and malt. The flavor is less appealing, it’s dryish, with straw malt and ordinary bitterness. Too bad, after the aroma I had higher expectations.
