500ml.brown bottle that pours an apricot-gold murky liquid with a white head. Fine bubbles of carbonation with little to no lace. Sweet and fruity malt nose with hints of stone fruits, green spicy hops and a bit of alcohol. Nice aroma, kind of has a flavored pipe tobacco scent. The taste is of sweet tea from the malt that transforms to a bitter, with some sourness from the hops. The finish is spicy with a zing on the tongue that the yeast and hops produce. Some warmth from the alcohol sneaks up from behind.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is mild alcohol, some floral and metallic notes along with some slight grainyness. Flavour is quite mashlike grainyness with some mild bready and green apply notes. Also some stinging alcohol. Unbalanced and rather strange bock.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Deep golden color. Sweet honeyish, bready and slightly toasty aroma. Bready-toasty flavor with honey, some tart fruity alcohol and hint of herbal hoppiness.

Süß würziger Antrunk, hell-malzig. Im Mittelteil etwas herb, leicht wässrig, würzig alkoholisch-bitter. Etwas platt im Abgang, lieblos wirkend. Test vom 13.10.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,6,6,6,8,6 - 6,60

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep golden, nice head. Starts intense spicy, also wheaty notes, modest dry background. Finish could be more balanced, still very spicy. Alcohol is well hidden. Nice!

Swing top bottle. Golden color. Hints of malt and citrus in the aroma. Malty sweetish, grassy citric flavor, with peach. Hint of perfume in the finish. Decent.

fiulijn (14978) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 17, 2011
Bottle from Maruhn, Darmstadt
Deep blond color. Very simple brew, with poor aroma and ordinary flavor; there is a light metallic touch in the end and it has ordinary bitterness; the flavor also has a very light sweetness. Closer to a Strong Lager than a quality Bock.
