2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 jodah52 (210) - Michigan, USA - APR 4, 2010
Cloudy gold. Very bready nose, with a good dose of hops. Astringent mouthfeel sets off a slightly bitter and slightly sweet taste. Aromas are faint; german bittering hops and a bit of grain. Decently crafted, but not a whole lot here.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ryan (3185) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Decent classic pils. Nice hoppy nose. Light bready doughy malts, light herbal and grassy hops. Pretty enjoyable.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Frank (2188) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 14, 2010
Golden yellow. Diminishing head of mixed bubbles leaves fine spots of lace. Nose is Nutty malts and grassy hops. Flavor is similar but possibly unbalanced toward sweetish malts, which is emphasized by slightly too gentle carbonation for a style. An alright beer. Unfortunately, mine tastes like it might have spent a bit too long on the boat over.

On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt. Pours a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma is pretty typical for a pilsner: pale malt, grain, and grassy hops. Flavor is also somewhat standard for the style, not exciting but well-done. Pale malt, grain, and grassy hops, maybe a little lemon peel. Medium-light bodied, fairly crisp. Drinkable if nothing else. A good but not great example of the style.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kappldav123 (3759) - Markkleeberg, GERMANY - JAN 13, 2010
The bottle looks really good, the same as the beer in the glass. Starts mild, but not washy, fine hoppy notes, not too dry, also quite spicy. Some fruity notes of lemon make the beer really interesting. Finish is well balanced, still hoppy-spicy. I liked it!

Tap @ Weinstuble Rebstock Biberach (BTW, they have 200+ single malts in stock, some of them distilled before my year of birth: 1962) Herbal, grassy hopbitter flavor. Some grassy hops in the aroma. Long grassy aftertaste. Medium bodied.
1.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - SEP 16, 2009
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a hazy typically carbonated yellow-white colored body. The weak aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and mild hops. Not one that I would buy again.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Allen (2670) - SWITZERLAND - JUL 12, 2009
Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of Quack-Duck. It pours a clear yellow beer with a decent sized white head. Dissapointing grainy aroma of patato, corn, diacetyl, agressive earthy hops, chestnut, butter, apple and wax. Poor taste which is rather sour, agressive with an obtrusive bitterness. Not much carbonation. Some apple and banana sneaking in. Grainy and metallic. Strong astringent finish. A very agressive beer. Poor. I didn’t enjoy this beer much- a very bad example for an german Pilsener. Thanks a lot Quack-Duck!
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 drpimento (1936) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 2, 2009
mmm, you know, it’s not bad, just not especially good. Got this bottle at Sam’s in Chi. Poured with a fizzy white head that quickly subsided; no lace. Color is a pale, very slightly hazy yellow. Aroma is grainy and hoppy. Flavors ’bout the same. Little more pronounced bitterness. Body’s ok. Kind of a generic German Pils. Finish is more bitter than sweet, but not bad.

22oz Bottle.
Smells slightly oxidized old pilsener malt character, wet and a little dead. Pours a well hazed and golden-tinted amber, with a soapy tall finger. Flavor develops more aged graham cracker, pie crust, and some sweet pale, pale honey. Not necessarily crisp, but still enjoyable. Decent. Certainly getting a little old, but still respectable. Body fades at the end and the hop levels are lower than I would like, but I still can appreciate this.
