A yellow beer with a huge white head. The aroma has light notes of both butter and hops, while the flavor is sweet malty, leading to a dry bitter end. The buttery aroma is a drawback.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Papsoe (25131) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 10, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) Pale golden with a fairly decent head. Usually South German pilseners are less hoppy, but this really is an exception. This is bitter like hell. Aromatic from the hops but almost sickingly bitter killing my taste buds. "Wohl abgerundet" (well rounded) the label claims - my ass it ain’t. 070302

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - JAN 1, 2004
Hazy grapefruit juice body with minimal white head. Aroma is grassy, light citrus. Taste is fairly sharp grassy bitter up front, quickly overtaken by grapefruit that carries through to the swallow. Light, rather crisp body. Unusual for a German pilsner.

Bottle from Hi-Time. Gold color with a decent white head. Aromas of bread and not-quite-grassy hop. Near medium body with smooth carbonation. Flavor is lightly bready with a decent amount of grassy bitter. Much more gentile than the macros. Bitter builds up in the finish. Fits the style.
