COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Winter 2012 Ale Brewed with Oranges and Ginger. Central Valley Oranges. Our blend of sweet and blood oranges were grown all-naturally at the family owned Hamada Farm in the central Valley. 7% 23 IBU Winter 2012 We brewed a bright, aromatic and warming "white" ale to sip through the short days and cold nights of our Northen California Winter. We Started with a healthy infusion of wheat, layered in a blend of juicy winter oranges from Hamada Farms, and added a touch of fresh ginger root to impart a hint of spicy, tangy heat. Finally a classic Belgian Wit yeast imparts a fruity, phenolic bite and rich, yeasty aroma. Pair with Cuban-Style roast pork or chevre goat cheese.

Bomber from Plumpjack. Hazy orangish yellow color with a two finger white head and great lacing. Great wheaty orange aroma with ginger and coriander. The flavor is nice, starting win spices, coriander and maybe clove, moving on to mild malty sweetness, wheat, and blood orange, along with ginger. Medium-bodied with good lively carbonation and a nice smoothness as well. Impressive beer. A bit steep at $18, but really enjoyable.

Bottle from City Beer. Pours cloudy yellow with a large white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a fresh orange taste and a pronounced ginger finish. A very interesting brew that tastes like a saison.

Pours a hazy yellow. Aroma is a bit tinny followed by some Belgian notes. Taste is spicy, wheat and a touch of orange. Nice interplay of subtle flavors. Creamy too. As good as the plum beer.

Bottle (#4840) from 12.29.2011 thanks to my girlfriend. Also noticed on the bottle (Batch 354, 012012). Pours with a very murky yellow hue with a slight orange tint. Huge and fluffy, retentive and strong lace bearing, tight nit head. Looks pretty spot on. Aromas are yeasty, phenolic, esters and spice. Mild ginger burn, grainy, bready, rustic. Mild wheat, pepper, very spicy, citrus peel/oils, orange, zesty. Lightly grassy. Vibrant. Flavors are bready, yeasty, malty, a bit sweet. Some phenols up front, but lots of wheat towards the finish with mild citrus. Any orange flavors are definitely complementary and in the background. Medium phenols, spice and ginger heat towards the front. A bit of a suntan lotion character. Basic and easy drinking. Mildly waxy towards the end. Zesty. Lively bubbles, medium dry finish (somewhat oddly malty sweet through the mid palate). Pretty solid.
