COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale brewed with cherries and aged in wine barrels

This barrel-aged wild ale is named for our San Francisco neighborhood and pays tribute to the Flanders Red style of beer. Aged in wine barrels, this lightly tart ale is brewed with California Rainier cherries using a house blend of wild yeasts, bacteria and SF sourdough yeast. Pair this complex ale with ripe figs & blue cheese or seafood bouillabaisse.

Man this is what I look for in a sour. Delicious! Their other beers I haven’t been too happy with but this one is great. Cloudy golden color. Very distinct tart and barrel flavors. I tastes sooo good. That sourdough yeast is the bomb. I am blown away by this beer. Tart lemon/cherry, apple cider vinegar. Touch of honey. No light sour stuff here. Faint whiskey finish.

Deep golden color with dry tart cherry aromas. Amazing dry tart sour cherry taste gets you right in the jowls. Refreshing and leaves your palate ready for more.

The beer appears orange and hazy with a quarter inch or so of off-white head. My wife’s is significantly redder and darker. The aroma brings wine barrels, oak, cherries, yeast, farmhouse funk. Lovely flavor with wine character leading the way. Prominent cherries with cherry juice and oak. Light to medium in body with a mild puckering finish. Terrific. I would really like to have this again.

Sour yeasty deliciousness. Pours Pink with very small head. Flavors that jumped out at me were Sour Grapes, Dough, and Cherries.

#400 Batch #2 P: Cloudy, gelatin almost, apricot body with a thin effervescent white cap. S: Tart sourness with a dirty fart bubbling in the background. T/M: Funky mouth puckering sourness. Aged granny apple cider and rotten wood. Brings tear jerkers to mind. Astringent and vivacious feel. O: My teeth hurt from this sour monster. Serving type: bottle

Pours a gorgeous red hue. Smells like pineapple upside down cake and wood. Cherries, cranberries, and barrel, complex, changing as it warms to lighter fruits such as raspberries. A nice light body married to a sturdy acidity thats balanced just right. This is a beautiful beer, I look forward to my cellared bottle.

Bottle pour. Tried this one a few days ago and had to go find another. Super sour fruit aroma. Very tart start with a lot of cherry. Long sour palate. High carbonation. Love this. Very memorable.

Just finished drinking this (Batch #2) and enjoyed it very much. Pleasantly sour/tart with just a hint of cherry and no off flavors at all. I enjoyed this way more than I expected to, and felt that it was priced well. Glad I have another tucked away!
