COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison aged in wine barrels with plums, Cabernet, concord, and muscat grapes. Our first California Wild Ale is brewed with a blend of Cabernet and Muscat grapes from Alfieri Farms, Concord grapes from Hamada Farms, and plums from Twin Girls Farm – all located in the fertile San Joaquin valley. Aged for over a year in used wine barrels, this sour ale blends rich flavors of the 2011 Autumn harvest with farmhouse funk. Enjoy with aromatic Taleggio cheese and rich duck confit.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed, sunset orange hued body with a moderate off white head that succumbs to the acidity. Tart aromas, lots of damp wood and wine barrel with lot of funk, damp leaves and pickled fruits. Plums and very tart grapes. Plenty of tannin and soil. Mild vanillin. Flavors are sour (cleanly) funky, and juicy fruit. A hint of a young Brett Cheerio character, a touch malty, earthy soil and strong earthy wine barrel and oak. Vinous. Very juicy albeit muddled fruit character. Good acid and tannin balance. Cleanly lactic acidity. Pretty good stuff. Moderate to slightly lively carbonation, decently puckering and dry. Good stuff!

375 ml bottle from bytemesis- thanks again! Pours a clear gold with a small off-white head. Aroma of grapes, oak, vanilla, and apple- sweet and tart. Flavor of red and white wine grapes, apples, and sweet malts. Medium-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a tart mouthfeel. Good sour ale.

On tap at Jupiter Sour Sunday. Pours cloudy orange with a thin white head and a cheese aroma (in a good way). There is a sour fruit flavor that lingers on the palate and a nice yeast presence.

12.7oz, thanks to phaleslu for sharing. Clear orange golden color. Thin white head. Some loose dots and short ropes of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter, soft carbonation. More dry finish. Nice light raspberry funk, some big oak, nice light funky cream. Awesome tart, lightly dry, aromatic sour ale.

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, aroma brings notes of grape juice, white grape skins, hints of oak, tannins, touch of white fruits with apricot, hints of cracker and biscuit, nice lactic note as well with a hint of spice. Taste is a mix of nice lactic lemon, hints of oak, biscuit, bread, nice spice, touch of tannins, lots of nice white grape, some slight red grape as well, finishing lactic, tart and fairly bitter.

375 ml bottle courtesy of 808Breaks. Thanks, dude. Pours a golden orange hue, gentle haze but closer to transparent, with lively carbonation, cakey brighter white head atop. Good filmy layer. Laces ok atop with firm lacing overall. Aromas are firmer plum, a bit tannic and dark fruit driven. Red and sweeter white grape mix, gentle oak, subtle tannic quality is quite mellow. A lot more dark fruit and skin presence in this one. Sweeter grapes mix in, some lactic acidity, decent funk and cobwebs, mellow to decent oak, vanilla. Initial is medium to decent sourness, a firm grape and plum melange of flavor. Red and purple grapes, some dry tannic skin meet plums, gentle white and muscat sweeter grapes start to come in. Some firm lactic elements, yogurt, big tannic grapeskin throughout. Medium oak. Some funkiness is a touch bretty. More fruity, tree fruit grape and dark fruit compliments. Red grape, touches of muscat, a great melange of flavor. Oak, lactic elements, firm tannic feel into the middle and backend. Some funk, gentle sweetness is subtle. Wow. Really well put together. I really thougt these flavors would clash, but it really works well. A big rich tannic red might have hurt this. But a more neutral barrel with some red grape tannic feel and sweet muscat feel somehopw really works together. Plum element really works well, compliments in a more subtle manner. Really comes together. Kinda amazed. Really looking forward to the next 3. Wow. Nose is a bit muted, but otherwise the beer delivers

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma is pure funk. I get a lot of blue cheese notes as well as some lemons and oranges. The flavor is more tart than funky. I get some lemon and orange notes, as well as some Belgian yeast. There is also some funk in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice sour.

(375ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear medium gold, lasting fine white bubbles. nose of straight up funky as shit blue cheese, bits of cherry, mold, burns your nose as you smell. Taste of tart cherry, bleu cheese, very funky, cheesy even in the taste, I know others have liked it, I just don’t really enjoy funky bleu cheese.
