COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison aged in wine barrels with plums, Cabernet, concord, and muscat grapes. Our first California Wild Ale is brewed with a blend of Cabernet and Muscat grapes from Alfieri Farms, Concord grapes from Hamada Farms, and plums from Twin Girls Farm Ė all located in the fertile San Joaquin valley. Aged for over a year in used wine barrels, this sour ale blends rich flavors of the 2011 Autumn harvest with farmhouse funk. Enjoy with aromatic Taleggio cheese and rich duck confit.

Very nice sour saison. Good saison foundation, but would like a bit more spice to come through. The sourness has a nice profile: puckeringly tart at first, and then fading to a nice fruitiness. Low carbonation. Overall, a nice California take on this style! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3/15/13 notes: Almanac Farm to Barrel Farmerís Reserve: Nose is beautiful brett, cherry, mulberry, really clean acidity, elegant clear orange with a white head. Flavor is lemon, bretty must, orange peel, back end vanilla and black cherry. Touch of apple cider vinegar in finish, dry. This is a winner, beyond the maturity of most American sours. A great accomplishment.

On tap at Taps in Petaluma. Strong aroma of blue cheese. A lot of tartness that smooths a little as it has time to breathe.

Lightly hazy yellowish gold pour, white head. Cool flavors of grapes, light oaky notes, lacitc sourness, funky goodness...hell yes.

Quite plummy in the nose, reminds me of my childhood summers when my grandmother would bring home fresh plums from the flea market. Lightly tart, with a definitely plum-dominant flavor, though hints of grape do linger. Not particularly musty/farmhouse, but a very good American fruit sour.

Bottle pour split with Andrew, big thanks for sharing, hereís to a new season, light peach color pour, aroma is full of fresh fruit and some sour funk, decent amount of carb, still has held up so well. Sour wine grape tast semisweet flavor. Such a awesome beer to be drinking.

Been holding on to this one for a while! Pours a beautiful auburn color with a chunky, 2 finger, off white head. Funky oak, raspberry, strawberry on the nose. Raspberry up front quickly followed by a wave of tartness that is very dry and crisp on the end. Medium bodied and effervescent. Worth the wait! I definitely think it may have benefited from a little less time in the bottle (fruit notes were pretty dulled) but absolutely fantastic nonetheless.

On tap. Cloudy yellowish brown with no head. Sour green apple, plum, grape, funky wine barrel aroma and taste with some fantastic tart fruit flavors and some nice candy sugar notes. Very good.

Bottle through trade, pour looks like a cloudy apricot/marmalade with light traces of white head. Aroma of grapes, plum, mild yeast funk and some oak. Taste of grapes, big bold tannins, little bit of a yeasty funk in the finish, pretty mild on the tartness. Finishes like a wine, awesome beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Plumpjack. Iíve been out of town for awhile, and in that time, it seems that Damian and Jesse have transformed into Vinnie Cilurzo. This is crazy good! The appearance is excellent - deep but hazy orange-copper with a lasting off-white head, very good retention and lacing. Excellent funky grape aroma with slight oaky notes. The flavor has oaky white wine, barnyard, muscat, and medium-plus tartness. Nice crisp and acidic mouthfeel with average carbonation. Really good and really drinkable at 7.8%.
