COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison aged in wine barrels with plums, Cabernet, concord, and muscat grapes. Our first California Wild Ale is brewed with a blend of Cabernet and Muscat grapes from Alfieri Farms, Concord grapes from Hamada Farms, and plums from Twin Girls Farm – all located in the fertile San Joaquin valley. Aged for over a year in used wine barrels, this sour ale blends rich flavors of the 2011 Autumn harvest with farmhouse funk. Enjoy with aromatic Taleggio cheese and rich duck confit.

Taste pours on peach, lemon, red berry , musty dank stuff, light spice. Citric finish, perfumed notes in back of throat. Medium light body. Floral, peach & citric tones linger. Beauty

Thanks to ACD. Appearance: cloudy orange, small white head. Aroma: where do I even start? Floral, sour, herbal, great nose, underripe grapefruit, cranberry. Just a feast for the nasal senses!!! Flavour: sour and floral and grapefruit, spicy, swirling around in my mouth, some dryness, lovely long tangy bitter finish. This is a winner. Thanks Alex.

S: This goes hard on the grapes, some plums, banyard funk and oak. P: Sunset type of pour got hazy towards the end of the bottle. T: Once again goes hard on those grapes, light plums and pear skin has clean sourness to it some oak in there to. M: Medium carbonation with a silky mouthfeel. O: Not the most complex sour out there, rather juicy and doesnt go far but enjoyable.

Poured a copper color from the bottle with aromas of plums, light wet wood, vineous notes, light nuts and some light sour barnyard. Flavors are the same, the grapes and wine are subtle so is the sourness. Insanly drinkable all day.

375mL from Blue Palms, Hollywood. Clear sparkling gold to orange. Medium fizzing white foam. Actually nice lacing. Cheesy, pretty funky bleu cheese nose like some Berliner Weisses. Taste is fresh and tangy RR Temptation style. Bright white wine and refreshing tart green apple and unripe nectarine. Lactic, refreshing. Great, long leathery finish. Similar to Temptation. No acetic.

375 ml bottle courtesy of 808Breaks. Thanks, dude. Pours a golden orange hue, gentle haze but closer to transparent, with lively carbonation, cakey brighter white head atop. Good filmy layer. Laces ok atop with firm lacing overall. Aromas are firmer plum, a bit tannic and dark fruit driven. Red and sweeter white grape mix, gentle oak, subtle tannic quality is quite mellow. A lot more dark fruit and skin presence in this one. Sweeter grapes mix in, some lactic acidity, decent funk and cobwebs, mellow to decent oak, vanilla. Initial is medium to decent sourness, a firm grape and plum melange of flavor. Red and purple grapes, some dry tannic skin meet plums, gentle white and muscat sweeter grapes start to come in. Some firm lactic elements, yogurt, big tannic grapeskin throughout. Medium oak. Some funkiness is a touch bretty. More fruity, tree fruit grape and dark fruit compliments. Red grape, touches of muscat, a great melange of flavor. Oak, lactic elements, firm tannic feel into the middle and backend. Some funk, gentle sweetness is subtle. Wow. Really well put together. I really thougt these flavors would clash, but it really works well. A big rich tannic red might have hurt this. But a more neutral barrel with some red grape tannic feel and sweet muscat feel somehopw really works together. Plum element really works well, compliments in a more subtle manner. Really comes together. Kinda amazed. Really looking forward to the next 3. Wow. Nose is a bit muted, but otherwise the beer delivers

Green apple, kiwi, plum, grape and hint of black pepper and lemon zest open. There are moments of wood and bread smoothness, but ultimately, the astringent tartness and acetic acid sharpness wrestles the palate to a dry and puckering finish. Full, yet at he same time light. The moderate carbonation supports the tart palate. Coating syrupy linger adds to feel. A very nice sour that thins the line between beer and wine. The bright and crisp fruit pairs well with the tart, acetic bite producing a much enjoyed ale that I hope to try again some time soon.
