Pouts a cloudy light orange with a white head and aroma of fruits and sour notes. Taste is sour, with tart fruit notes, nectarines, strawberries and slight wine notes coming through as well leading to a dry, sour finish. Nice sour brew

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Many thanks to Aaron for bringing this along. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Moderate sharp tangy lemon in the nose, light funk. Mellow sweet flavor with dry strawberries, light dough. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, moderately tangy, some sweat, strawberry seeds. Very tasty stuff.

Tap, Zeitgeist. Thin white head, almost a milky darker marigold. Not over the top sour, peaches, light fruit, lactic twinge in the aroma. The flavor follows quite closely, rounded nectarine, sour, woody, lively and a tart finish. Lighter to medium body. Awesome stuff!

Pours a peach golden color with a finger of fizzy foam. The nose is vinous, sour patch kids, rhubarb and traces of honeyed strawberries. The palate is bright and tart. Nice blend of funky barrel notes, tart fruit, juicy strawberries and a round stonefruit backdrop makes this a deliciously refreshing summer beer with enough complexity to keep you going back for more.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2013 Bottle. Golden pour with white head. Nose of strawberries, straw, citrus, and funk. Taste is very heavy on fruit. Especially strawberries. Nice funk. Sweet and tart with a semi-dry finish. Nice vineous qualities. Low on acidity. Very good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is slightly acidic with a balanced barnyard funk as well. The beer is rather fruity as well with the strawberries being more prevalent than the nectarines. The strawberries do have a touch of a plastic character but not as bad as other strawberry beers. Faint nectarine notes. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a medium thickness white head that steadily recedes leaving no lacing. Flavor starts with a hint of sweet malt but is quickly washed away by a refreshing tartness. The flavor has a nice vinous quality mid palate with notes of wine and oak. The finish is fruity with faint strawberry and moderate nectarine notes which help balance the acidity. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. There is a low acidic astringency and the alcohol warmth is low as well. The beer is a bit sticky but the acidity helps wash that away. Overall another very nice beer from Almanac. Their Farmerís Reserve series is really nice and well made. I am continually impressed by these beers, though my expectations were low after years of crap. Who knew good beers could come out of Hermitage.

Pours a pale orange-ish gold. Quite cloudy. Solid head. Lots of fine white bubbles. Very good retention with some nice lacing. Aroma is sweet strawberry jam with some background barrel flavor, lightly buttery oak and some deeper grapey-ness. Strawberries seem to be a hard fruit to use in sours. They seem to contribute a rubbery/plasticky touch, and while itís present in this beer, itís minimal and handled well against the flavors contributed from the wine barrel. Thereís a touch of light funk, as well. The taste is light to medium tart. Thereís a little bit of strawberry sweetness up front, but it fades out, and the finish is tart and moderately dry. Lots of strawberry flavor. A touch of that rubber flavor, mostly in the finish, and it kinda fades in and out, much less than some strawberry sours that Iíve tried. The barrel seems to contribute some light vinous flavor, some blackberry/raspberry and mild oak. Very solid taste. A little bit of body, though itís generally light and lively. Medium pucker - pretty firm sourness in the back of the throat. Almanac continues to impress me with their Farmerís Reserve sours. Iím looking forward to more.

Strawberries, lemon lime, deliciously earthy. Plenty sour with hearty depth of flavor; so much great going on here.
