Ale Aged In Wine Barrels With Strawberries and Nectarines When summer comes to California’s Farmer’s Markets, the stands explode with mountains of mouth watering stone fruit and plump strawberries. Aged in used wine barrels for a year, this refreshing & tart wild ale was made with sweet coastal strawberries from Swanton Berry Farms and high-summer crimson baby nectarines from Blossom Bluff Farms. Taste comprises soured berry fruit compote, light booze, mushy strawberries, straw, light funk. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp tarte fruit finish. Decent.

Craft Clerkenwell tasting. Thanks to Aaron. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light palate, a little crispy. Strawberries and cream! Light peach and a touch of sherbet and oak. Light dry finish. Great strawberry vibe on this one.

Bottle into a goblet. Pours slightly hazy hay. No real head or lacing. Aroma is tart, funky, citrus. Taste is tart, lightly puckering, the fruits really come through. Not too much wine character though. But the strawberry and tangerine both stand out. This is excellent.

Courtesy of dirt. Hazy gold-orange, thin large white bubbles head evaporates to oily cap. Very green nectarine nose, punchy an sour with light phenolic rubber and Brett. Really bright nectarine flavor, light acids and bright, bit watery with low carbonation, full wheaty finish.

Pours a light apricot hazy color with a small head. Nose is sour and tart, even somewhat pungent. Taste is tart and sour as exepected .... sour citrus with some subtle sweetness at the finish. Mouth puckering, not for everyone, but a nice sour ale. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Pouts a cloudy light orange with a white head and aroma of fruits and sour notes. Taste is sour, with tart fruit notes, nectarines, strawberries and slight wine notes coming through as well leading to a dry, sour finish. Nice sour brew

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Many thanks to Aaron for bringing this along. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Moderate sharp tangy lemon in the nose, light funk. Mellow sweet flavor with dry strawberries, light dough. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, moderately tangy, some sweat, strawberry seeds. Very tasty stuff.

Tap, Zeitgeist. Thin white head, almost a milky darker marigold. Not over the top sour, peaches, light fruit, lactic twinge in the aroma. The flavor follows quite closely, rounded nectarine, sour, woody, lively and a tart finish. Lighter to medium body. Awesome stuff!
