Sampled in a small bottle. So far my favorite from the series. Not your normal sour but a really cool and unique brew. The strawberry flavor is subtle but quality. Highly carbonated.

Hazy slightly orange pour with a nice thick white head - much of the head sticks around for a while, a bit of lacing. Really nice appearance. White wine grape and some sweet fruit to the nose. Taste is excellent. Sour, a little citrus, stone fruit and a hint of strawberry on the finish. Really nice.

Bottle from trade. Thanks! Pours a hazy light yellow with a half finger fizzy white head on top that dissipates quickly. Big sour aroma with vinegar, apricots, sour light citrus, and just a hint of strawberry. Really nice. Flavor is sour up front with a sweet strawberry-banana mid-palate, and ending with an extra sour kick of tangerines (nectarines I guess) and apricots. The finish has a dry oaky feel but with some additional warmth in the chest as it goes down, similar to a dry white wine, and I assume this comes from the barrel aging. A really nice medley of flavors that still let the sour punch shine. Light bodied and very effervescent as would be expected from the style. Heavy carbonation that prickles the tongue. Overall a beautifully crafted brew! I think if I liked strawberries in my beer more this would be rated higher overall, but even as someone who is not a huge strawberry fan I found this to be excellent. Maybe because the strawberry is subdued. A must try for the sour beer and the strawberry lover. My second Almanac beer and they continue to impress.

12/26/13. 375mL bottle shared by heykevin at the QC tasting. Nice golden pour with a good white head and nice lacing. Lovely aroma, plenty fruity, some strawberry and citrus, plenty of funk and tartness, hints of tannic wine aspects. Plenty of funk in the flavor, nicely tart, chalky sweettart sourness, lots of fruitiness that mimics the aroma. Delish.

Bottle... Berliner Bash on the Bay 2013... This beer rocks!Ö Cloudy golden pour with no head. Tart, fruity, lightly funky aroma. Medium-bodied with a skim-milk mouthfeel and jazzy carbonation. The flavor is fruity and mildly sour with a nice note of bread dough. Finishes tart and fruity; bright and refreshing. Kudos to newcigarz for providing this bottle of world class brew!

Bottle shared by heykevin, pours a hazy gold with a thick white head and spotty lacing, the aroma has tons of strawberry with a good amount of yogurt and some barnyard funk, the flavor has lots of funk on the front end with the sweetness of the strawberries in the finish rounding it out, slick mouthfeel, awesome stuff here.

Bottle at Churchillís. A good and sound sour that just didnít excite. Past its prime perhaps? Missed it on release and glad I got to try it. Very dry, to the point where the sour is underwhelming.

Bottle from Dak, thanks man! Crisp hazy golden pour, light straw white head. Aroma - lots of vinous, peaches, grass and some nice citrus. Taste - lots of sour funk, medium carbonation, nice bit of lemon tartness, finishes with some tangerine, not crazy puckering, but a well rounded sour.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of tart green apple, strawberry, nectarine, lemon zest, hay, straw, oak, clove, vinegar, leather, pepper, musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of fruit, oak, and yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of tart green apple, strawberry, nectarine, lemon zest, hay, straw, oak, clove, vinegar, pepper, musty funk, light leather, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/earthy tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart apple, strawberry, nectarine, lemon zest, hay, grass, vinegar, oak, clove, pepper, funk, light leather, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity and balance of fruit, oak, and yeast flavors; with a great tartness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. High carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent fruited sour ale. All around great complexity and balance and fruit, oak, and yeast flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Big ups to atlaggie for this one. Murky light orange color. Pungent fruity aroma that flows through to the flavor pretty well. Light fruit flavor. Touch of cherry and strawberry. Super bubbly and effervescent. Touch of sourness makes this light and easy to drink.
