Aged in used wine barrels for a year, this refreshing & tart wild ale was made with sweet coastal strawberries from Swanton Berry Farms and high-summer crimson baby nectarines from Blossom Bluff Farms. Aroma has a hint of strawberry puree with citrus accompaniment. Taste has a bit less strawberries, light sweetness, a bit tart but not overwhelming, drinkable as hell. I wish the fruity flavors were more pronounced but still a damn good beer.

Pours a very hazy dark banana yellow color with straw colored edges and a one finger white head that slowly settles into a thick, lasting ring. Really dark but has nice retention for the style with sporadic streaks of soapy lacing left behind. Funky, musty aroma with some earthy oak and a vibrant vinous fruit sweetness. Slightly sweet smelling with hints of dark grape and strawberry and cream along with a subtle lactic character and prominent funky bugs. The wild yeast adds complexity without overpower the fruit notes. Smells very good! On the lighter end of medium body with a decent amount of sour acidity along with some dry oak, musty funk, lactic cream and sweet light fruit esters. Kind of feels like a strawberry and cream wild ale with sweet berries and other vinous fruit flavors complimented by acetic acid and a nice oak barrel presence. Some lactic funk lingering subtlety underneath but it never becomes harsh or solvent like. Highly recommended!

Smell of old oak matches with tart fruity aromas. Flavor of a very fruity Sauvignon blanc and oak ending. All the mild fruits finish rounding this out.

Bottle shared @ dangerous bottleshare #8 . Pours hazy orange with an off white head. Aroma of hay, funky brett, nectarine, barnyard, dirty oak and some other sweet citrusy notes. Strawberry is very subtle in the aroma. The taste on the other hand holds the strawberry notes along wit nectarines, hay, dry oak and some funky brett. Nice tartness. Definitely one of the better if not the best almanac i’ve had yet.

Bottle at Dangerous Bottleshares #8, thanks to Klimaet/Brandon! Pours a hazy orange with a big, white/off white head. Aroma has lots of fruity stuff. Mostly the nectarines shine through with citrus peel, sweet, fruity, slight wild strawberry, dusty funky and tart, big, dirty oak barrel. Taste is fruity tart up front with the citrussy sour notes up front, followed by lots of strawberry sweetness. Dirt, dust, barn, oak and other dry, funky stuff. Both dry and juicy finish. Very nice! One of the best i’ve had from Almanac! Crisp, light body with medium high carb.

Bottle, thanks to major Tom. Hazy gold pour with tenacious white head. Aroma is really intense, nice strawberry aroma, white wine, light buttery oak, fruity, intense funkiness, berries. Taste is tart, lightly gastric and acetic but not overpowering, strong citric acidity, awesome berry flavor. Palate is med bodied, med carbonation. Great stuff.

Pours clear blonde, rather small white head. Smell is intense, very fruity. strawberries up front, mandarines is more in the back of the scent. Some sourness as well, hint of funk. No real oak in the scent. Taste is sharp , sour and very dry. Sourness gets countered by the fruit. Well mixed between both, but strawberries have the upperhand. Funk and oak aren’t very intense in this. Fruit builds up in the ending. Another nice one from Almanac!
