COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We love blackberries. Tart, sweet and complex but guarded by thorny branches, these alluring fruit have been a favorite of ours since we added them to our very first beer. This sour blonde ale is infused with loads of coastal Blackberries from Swanton Berry Farm in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains and aged in wine barrels for many months. Pair with duck dishes and summer salads.

opaque between peach pink and carrot red color, little lacing round the edges. effervescent scent, yeast, sweet honeysuckle, cardboard, taste is hard too put my finger on, light, getting some berry, reminding me of their rasperry offering last summer. I don’t know, much like a fruity wine.

375 ml bottle shared, purchased at Supermarket Liquors. Hazy orange appearance with a small white head. Aroma of funky yeast, light cheese, sour notes, light wood, light earth and lots of fruit. Similar flavor, adding notes of light berries, apples and pears. Tart, mild puckering feel with a sour finish. Nice.

On tap at Apex, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of pithy notes and light tartness. Flavour is very tart, with pithy blackberries, medium acidity and prominent sourness. Not the most complex beer, and the acidity and sourness are a bit much. Still, decent.

375 mL bottle enjoyed on vacation in Cali. The pour is a pinkish grapefruit color with a thin white head that falls all the way off, just leaving liquid. The aroma is pretty heavy on the wine barrel. There is a little fruit here, but most of it is blended into the wine and the sour pops through on the back end. The flavor is sour with a light fruit and a strong wine dominance on the back end. The sour on the back is lovely. The mouth feel is a bit light and underwhelmingly lightly carbonated. Kind of a thin, slick feel with a lingering tart sourness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home with my wife. Pour is murky orange with a small white head that quickly dissipated. Super funky, cheesy, lemon peel, tannic, berries, raisins, fruit rind, and urine in the aroma. Taste is lemony, cheesy, salty, some biscuit, funk, sweaty socks, and floral with a heavy sour finish. Medium body with high carbonation. Much too acidic for me to enjoy much of it.

Bottle. Pinkish appearance, like peach fuzz. Topped with a thin head of fluffy white. Funk leads the nose in front of pear, oak, vinegar and white grape. Blackberry skins are here as well, alongside some earthy, green vinousness. Intriguing. That earthy, floral funk carries into the flavor, though in a more subdued form. Very tart -- vinegar, lemon juice. Medium-light body, very carbonation. Could use some bubbles. High, enamel-ripping acidity. No blackberry juice flavor -- more like the dusty yeast that live on the fruit.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a clear dark amber color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour yeast and berry aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer for style.

375 ml bottle shared with Tmoney99 and Fifty West crew. Pours a clear golden color with a small off white head. The aroma is sweet/sour dark berries which presents more as blackberry and raspberry, some acidity, yeast, some vinous character. The flavor has has tart sour blackberries, acidic, wood, vinous character, drinkable with the right amount of sour bite, solid. The pluot was just a hint better.

bottle, nope no blackberry in here, would’ve been rated much higher if it actually has some blackberries in it. Oh well. Complete vinegar lacto bomb.
