Citrus and beer have always made a great pair, ever since the first lemon wedge was added to a cold wheat beer. Here we expand on that tradition in a new way, melding the intensely aromatic zest of Buddha’s Hand citrons with the bracing tartness of Bergamot oranges in a sour blonde ale aged in wine barrels. Pair with sushi or flakey white fish or contrast with earthy roasted root vegetables.

2017/10/13 - Pours a hazy deep straw colour with a thin white head that quickly vanishes and leaves no lacing. Aroma is tart lemon and orange, floral notes, vinegar, musty funk and oaky vinous notes. Taste is sour orange and lemon, wood, vinegar, white wine and funk. Mouthfeel is medium with lightly biting carbonation and a juicy, acetic finish. Tart, crisp and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aged bottle via PUB’R trade. Pours turbid golden with fizzy, white head. Nose is huge florals and white peppery spice, hops wheat. More Earl Grey tea (oil of bergamot) in the flavor, tart light-skinned fruit, hops, wheat, citrus, and oaky white winey flavors. A true stellar straddler of the beer/wine barrier.

Bottle from craft beer cellar batch from June 15 A: citrusy, light orange app: clear bond no head t/p: thin body with long acidic finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: Really enjoyed the aroma from the different citrus used in this beer. It has a nice refreshing tartness. I had the beer alone but could definitely imagine a few food pairing that would work good with it. First beer from Almanac for me, nice intro.

Poured a yellow color with aromas of citrus, light wine, some sourness, some light wet wood, and some funk. Flavors are nice citrus and sour up front with some light wine in the back end, light and refreshing. Could drink this all day, sad I only have one bottle.
