Our Golden Gate Gose is a special draft-only beer inspired by the classic wheat beer hailing from Leipzig, Germany. Traditionally brewed with salt and coriander, our tart California-inspried version is brewed with San Francisco Bay sea salt, lemon verbena and coriander grown especially for us by Dirty Girl Produce in Santa Cruz, California. Fermented with our house saison yeast, this delicate and tart beer is a perfect summer refresher. Pair with fresh seafood and sunshine.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Ariel. Hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of coriander, citrus, a bit of verbena, wheat and a light lactic note. Sourish wheaty flavor, citric, with some spiciness, mild lacto and a more spicy finish with a salty note. Medium-bodied. Refreshing and quite true to style.

Subtle, great balance between the salt, coriander, and acidity. Some doughy malt character. I enjoyed this.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Superstar - Beer City, 12/28/14

Aroma: Rather tart aroma, with some sour wheat, yeasty notes, strong spice, and lemon zest
Appearance: Pours a clear gold color with a good sized frothy white head that leaves
Flavor: The flavor is quite sour, wheaty, a little tart, with some late spice and lemon zest
Palate: The body is medium, with a lot of carbonation, and a tingly, almost puckering finish
Overall Impression: I actually quite enjoyed this. It is missing some of the saltiness that you’d hope for in the style, but it has a lot of the sour wheat and tart flavors to still make it an enjoyable beer. Maybe not the most on-style gose out there, but something I quite enjoyed drinking.

Bottle at James’ for the multi-K tasting. Pours a mostly clear gold with a thin white head. Sweet and salty on the nose, soft musk, sweet citrus. Tart acid, a bit of funk, sweet and musky. Light salinity, sweet musky tartness. Super easy drinking, soft tartness with a big lemon hit.
