Our Golden Gate Gose is a special draft-only beer inspired by the classic wheat beer hailing from Leipzig, Germany. Traditionally brewed with salt and coriander, our tart California-inspried version is brewed with San Francisco Bay sea salt, lemon verbena and coriander grown especially for us by Dirty Girl Produce in Santa Cruz, California. Fermented with our house saison yeast, this delicate and tart beer is a perfect summer refresher. Pair with fresh seafood and sunshine.

A surprising beer that is probably much better than my rating would indicate. One of the first ’different’ beers I have no argument with - albeit in moderation.

A light and restrained type of sour beer. Tart and refreshing. The salt wasn’t too apparent for me, but I had a relatively small sample. Would love to try this one again.

Appearance: lemony yellow, short bright white head. Aroma: sour lemon zest and green apple jolly ranchers, light pilsner malt. Taste: granny smith apples, white pepper, noticeable salt, coriander, and lemongrass. Finish: prickly and dry, with lingering salt, pepper, and crackery toast. Notes: Slightly less sour than previous goses I’ve tried, and with the most pronounced salt character as well. Interesting, with a great light palate that really makes you want to take another sip. Bottle from the Rare Beer Club.

Bomber - lightly hazy gold - fairly thick lace - nose of coriander, light saltiness, tangy wheat, strong mineral presence - flavor has a nice balance of tartness, mineral/salt character, lemon and other fresh, light citrus.- very crisp, light, tart finish with a nicely lingering mineral bite.

On tap at Rock Bottom in Denver. Pours hazy yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma of barnyard funk, some yeast, a hint of salt, tart lemons, wheat malts, some definite sweetness here. Flavor follows the smell closely with tart and sweet lemons and honey, wheat malts, some light saltiness (very light), and a funky yeasty finish. The body on this was pretty light and refreshing, with medium carbonation. This really came off more as a saison to me, but had it side by side with their honey saison and this had a slight salt tinge to it. Other than that, they were very similar.

Bottle into a goblet.Pours hazy gold, almost a slight pinkish hue. Faint white head. Aroma is where all of the spice and lemongrass comes through. Slight citrus, a bit minty, with hints of fresh pineapple. Taste is crisp, slightly salty with a nice tart and citrus balance. Real nice and refreshing, easy drinking. Haven’t had much gose yet...but this is the best so far.

Sample at Kurtkeller 014: Almanac-tastic 01 on 06/27/2014. This brew pours a cloudy orange-gold color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of funky yeast, citrus and spices. Light-bodied with flavors of tart citrus, doughy yeast and spices. The finish is funky with a tart fruity aftertaste. Decent overall.

22 oz bottle purchased from Blackwell’s. Pours a hazy caramel orange with a quickly fading sudsy white that left nothing behind. Aroma is citrus of orange and lemon, caramelly wheat sweetness, herbal complexity and tartness. Flavor is salty tang with coriander, wheat, and citrus acidity, like freshly squeezed orange juice. A slightly spicy yeast finish. Thin to medium mouthfeel. Overall like a Berliner weisse with a salty vegetal complexity.

Bottle shared by Dave. Thanks man. The beer is a hazy sunset yellowish orange with a thin layer of head, consisting of broken bubbles and noticeable effervescence. The aroma offers tangerine, assorted tangy citrus, wheat, light sea salt. A touch of coriander. Nice flavor. Very fruit forward. Zesty with a tart finish. Enjoyable.
