This is a beer made with real pumpkins. We hand-roasted over 500lbs of heirloom pumpkins from La Tercera Farms in Bodega Bay. The caramelized gourds were then added to our velvety American Barleywine and aged in brandy barrels for a year. Finally, we blended the barrel-aged beer with freshly brewed ale and added a delicate hint of pumpkin pie spices to round out this decadent autumn sipper.

Bottle. Pours dark copper with some ruby at the edges. Fluffy off white head leaves a little lacing. Aroma is pumpkin pie spice and brandy. Taste is mostly stingy brandy and pumpkin pie spice with some light caramel notes to start, but adds some nice bready and vanilla notes as your mouth adjusts to the alcohol. Caramel becomes more apparent too. Palate coats your mouth and has nice carbonation. This is very complex and might be the best pumpkin beer I've tasted. Awesome.

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, hazy reddish brown pour with thin off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, nice light spice, hints of brandy, pumpkin flesh and toasted pumpkin. Taste is a nice mix of brandy, oak, slight pumpki but pretty hidden, slight clove, cinnamon, touch of earth, finishing sweet, slightly oaky, more brandy. Nice, no alcohol for 12%.

Draft. Aroma is fresh pumpkin with spices and caramel, taste is very sweet with some malt notes, a little boozy, body is thick as expected. Solid beer, that’s different than most pumpkin beers around right which scores some points in my book.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2013 GABF 2013. Pours a burnt orange appearance with a tan head. Big toasted pumpkin, just a touch spicy, lightly fruity, caramel aroma. Slightly spicy/boozy flavor with a ton of roasted pumpkins and herbal notes. Kind of thin. One of my favorite beers of the fest and one that I would love to try again.
