COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a beer made with real pumpkins. We hand-roasted over 500lbs of heirloom pumpkins from La Tercera Farms in Bodega Bay. The caramelized gourds were then added to our velvety American Barleywine and aged in brandy barrels for a year. Finally, we blended the barrel-aged beer with freshly brewed ale and added a delicate hint of pumpkin pie spices to round out this decadent autumn sipper.

12.7 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy murky orange with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out nice pumpkin notes, butterscotch, candied sugar, and pumpkin spices. Flavour is certainly unique, with notes of butterscotch, pumpkin spices, pumpkin puree, and some slight tartness. Very unusual flavours, but it somehow works to a degree. Not my favourite, but I applaud the effort.

Hazy orange red woody just dark almost right from the barrel haze. Nose is sweet, oaky, cognac with yams and clove. Coriander and brown sugar.

Bottle from Tooch4321...thanks Adam! - Pours rosy amber with a foamy light tan head. Nose is cinnamon, allspice, sweet boozy warmth, and bready malt. A bit of pumpkin coming through too. Taste is pumpkin pie, a bit of oak, nice sweet bready malt, and a warming booziness. A little overspiced for my tastes, but still really tasty. Medium bodied with mellow carbonation. Beautiful.

375ml in a snifter. Pours deep, hazy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and toffee from the malts, light pumpkin, a little brandy, hints of alcohol, light floral hops, and hints of alcohol. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Smooth texture. A good beer.

375 ml bottle poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of caramel, clove, cinnamon, pumpkin and light brandy. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, cinnamon, pumpkin, light clove, light brandy and a hint of oak with a smooth lingering spiced caramel finish.

Pours a dark red rust with an off white head. Aroma of alcohol, bad perfume and pumpkin spices. Big on cinnamon nutmeg and some sweet brandy notes and pumpkin. Caramel and a little dry finish. Medium body and light carbonation. Good.

Medium brown, yeasty and pumpkin spice aroma. A bit overcarbonated and thin but overall good flavor. Pumpkin spice is there, but not a great barleywine overall.

Bottle. Lovely nose of subtle pie crust, brown sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin flesh, and wax. Slightly occluded dark amber in color with a bubbly ring head. Very odd initial taste of spiced caramel sweetness and a chemical-like sourness. Spoiled green apple, cinnamon, and burnt pastry dough tones pop up. Medium body; very dry, astringent finish. Several beer-geek friends have said they thoroughly enjoyed this beer; I just don’t get it. Perhaps I bought a bad bottle.

Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some pumpkin and cinnamon notes. The flavor is similar with some strong pumpkin, cinnamon and allspice. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice beer, but I don’t really get any barrel-aged or barleywine notes. Pretty much just tastes like a pumpkin beer to me.
