330 ml bottle at the Airport in Beirut, Lebanon. Pours a brown color with a Beige short lasting head. Aroma is Malt and some fruitiness. Taste is malt paper and some fruit. Palate is to bubbley and slightly harsh. A far cry better than their normal beer but still way below average.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Lyn_n (8) - Beirut, LEBANON - MAY 11, 2012 does not count
I have to say, definitely better than their so-called pilsner, but not by much. The aroma issue is still an issue, the beer smells skunky and a little metallic. It pours a nice color and head though. Tastes average with a slight metallic tinge on the tongue. A bit below the average.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 imdownthepub (8492) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 26, 2011
Bottled, 330ml at Aqua Lebanese Restaurant, Warwick. Amber with white head, short lasting. Dryer than expected, it certainly has a sharpish malt note, a little metallic perhaps, some dry caramel late on. Not bad.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 tomciccateri (885) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - JUN 24, 2011
From a brown 33cl n on-twist off bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a frothy tan head of fine bubbles. Dull malty aroma. Big, slightly heavy, mouthfeel. Carmely malty flavor, not too sweet of dry. Slight hop flavor into finish. Mild underlying hop bitterness is very subdued. Well carbonated. A step up from its sister adjunct beer.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DrSilverworm (2733) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 14, 2011
12oz bottle in Beirut, Lebanon. Clear brown, slightly red-hued color, light tan quickly fading 2-finger head that leaves brief lacing. Carbonation is sharper on this one than on the normal almaza, which isn’t a good thing. The finish is just as quick, however, maybe even quicker. Retains the intense drinkability of regular almaza extra, but has a slightly longer and stronger aftertaste, with a sweet caramel aroma - but still nothing too strong or thick, predominantly watery - great for the summer season.
