Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts/caramel with maybe a touch of smoke. Flavor is sweet malt/caramel with a little acidity and again a hint of smoke (though the smoke taste is a little off). Finish is slightly bitter and has a burnt malt flavor that isn’t good.

75cl bottle shared with friends. Gushed. Thin white head. Hazy amber/blond pour. Smokey taste. Quite different for a barley wine

Pours dark murky brown with practically no head. Aroma is nut, alcohol and a bit of caramel. Flavor is burnt hazelnut, alcohol and a lot of bitterness. This was not one of my favorites.

On tap at bir&fud. Very complex beer, strong enough as regard the alcoholic graduation and very strong malt feelings. Persistent froth. Dark aspect and full bodied. The whisky taste is noticeable enough. Not too much indicated in summer.

75 cl bottle, amber beer with offl coloured head. Hoppy, bit cheesy aroma, and some wood and nut tones. Good mouthfeel but the taste is thin, biiter, slightly sweet. A bottle is too much

Hazy brownish pour dark amber tint thin off white head .... aroma of smoked malt and chestnuts ... taste is smokey and chestnut honey with some fruit and a nutt finish ... medium bodied and a warming brew good for a cold winter night .... disappointing for a barleywine but not a bad brew overall

Countbeer (5996) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 6, 2010
Bottle: Light brown foamy head on top of a dark hazy orange to brown colored beer. Smell some toasted malts, caramel, hints of smoke and peach. Taste lots of malts with hints of caramel, mocha, spices, speculaas, cinnamon. Earth in the aftertaste. Soft to silky mouthfeel, mid carbo.
