Bottle at Dutch RB meeting, thanks for sharing Savad! Pours a hazy deep orange color with almost no head. Aroma of spices, and smoky malt. Flavor is slightly spicy with a deep malt base, sweet and slightly bitter in the finish. Low carbonation.

UPDATED: APR 11, 2010 Aspetto dal colore arancio carico. Naso ricco e fragrante. Schiuma molto fitta un po meno persistente. In bocca risulta piena, sapori ben definiti (miele, torbato, luppolo) ma armoniosamente susseguiti uno dall’altro. Una grande birra, una delle mie affumicate preferite.

Bottle. A funky barley wine. Pours a cloudy orange-brown with minimal head. Malty aroma with some wild yeast. Smoky flavor with notes of ham and bandaids. Also hints of toffee and caramel. More smokiness in the finish. Almost no bitterness. Medium in body with light carbonation. An interesting brew.

Pours a dark, cloudy orange under an off-white head. Nose is malty sweetness with hints of floral aromas. Bottle indicated orange zest used in brewing and it’s possible that the floral aromas are actually the hints of orange. Nice, never the less. Mouth feel is very smooth, and at 8.7% there is no alcohol warming. The creamy softness doesn’t have the heavier viscosity I usually find in barley wines, and the sweetness doesn’t seem come from the malty thickness that most barley wines have - maybe that’s the honey talking. Nice beer. I’d drink it again.

Bottle@Home. Smoked and fruity aroma. Brown colour, beige head, good lace. Sweet, toffee, smoke, herbal. Sticky mouth feel. Flavourful yet easy going.

Do not know if ITalians are ignorant about their beers of there is a lot of semi local distribution which leads normal beers drinkrs to ignore their existence in there but these guys know how to brew. THis barley one was not the exception and easy to drink.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Smoky, malty buttery aroma with a hint of tobacco. Malty buttery smoked beechwood flavor. Soft but persistant in the aftertaste.

Slightly hazy dark amber with a lasting, creamy off-white head. Caramel aroma with weak bacon notes. Sweet and malty flavour with phenolic notes, and a little alcohol. Funny enough idea, but I’m not a fan

From the Bottle at Chris O’s 06/08/2009 Malt aroma. Amber red coloured strong in alcohol a little rich on the palate and pale with a little bitterness in a crisp malt finish.
